I converted my WK with longer links, i did it the way HPI crawler phase 1 said to. but ive noticed some people using the mount to make it 2 different links up top instead of the V.
Im wondering if using the 2 links uptop instead of the single V works better? do you get better flex? thanks for your help guys.:flipoff:

I think people do it because the upper plastic one can flex side to side, and it allows for the axle to move all around.

There is so much flex possible with the stock configuration I don't think anyone would need to convert the upper links for more.

ya i think you got it. the three link is good they use it in vehicles like my suzuki sidekick, it has an upper ball joint though like this ___

axle
if you get that? The way my suzuki is set up the vee bar is fairly short and it doesnt have a long extension to combat side to side movement. like what hpi does to their top link. pro rock crawlers use a triangulated 4 link like what most people do to convert their w.k.

i know way to much for being 15. lol

They replace the stock plastic V upper with two links because it's just simply stronger. Those plastic links won't last very long with some good rock beatings.

I like the look of wishbone 3 links and they work great if set up correctly.

3 links (like the HPI stage 1 idea) are easier to set up the pinion angle and all that. But Locked said it, those stock plasic upper links will flex a lot side to side. I went with a 4 link setup, but not for more travel (not necessary!). I did it because that's what I had and the 4 link seems to be stiffer than a 3 link.

What I like about the wishbone 3 link, though, is it gives a good placement for a battery, and as long as it's a cool blingy aluminum one!:D

I converted mine to a 4-link when one of my stock plastic wish-bones broke, and never looked back. I really don't see any difference between the three-link and the four-link, as far as performance goes, other than the axles are much more solidly located under the truck now.

I just whipped up some mounts that bolt to the stock mount out of 1/4" aluminum C-channel. Cost all of 4 bucks and took 20 minutes. It's even adjustable! If you don't want to go to that much trouble, TLT link mounts bolt right to that little spot and a whole set of them is $3 from RPPhobby. "thumbsup"

thanks a lot guys your all really helping out. do they sell that aluminum wishbone link anywhere? or is it custom?

Nope sorry, you won't find that on the market. That's one I designed and had Pyro on here machine for me out of aluminum "thumbsup"

Check my sig for the "templates" link. You can find a printable PDF that has that design and one other...and if you're feeling frisky, can make yourself one out of either aluminum or acetal plastic (which is what the prototype was made of)8)
