2 new proline bodies

I saw Dirks Helios body in person today and it does look a lot better in person then they do on the pictures released. With the Helios body and the chassis that Dirk is running it the whole rig sat lower then the SW3 sitting next to it with no body on it. The Bottom of the skid plates were at the same height or just slightly different maybe a 1/8" total. Looks to be a really good low CG rig!

It does sit really, really low, without sacrificing belly clearance. With the Helios body on the truck, the top of the roof sits lower than most others chassis' do. This is a combination of the Helios body being very streamlined and the BlackJack chassis design. Great combination and they both work incredibly well!

The first Crawler body on the market was called the Rock Pleaser.

To be honest I was initially really excited about the rockstar body.. Having hunted down an original Rock Pleaser.. but truth be told the dimensions of the rockstar are way to small for me.. I would have loved to see Proline rerelease the pleaser with a dovetailed and slightly shortened rear/bed. It just feels like a real rig that someone might cobble together to take out on the rocks.. just my 2 cents..

well, that halo thing would be good for a VMG scaler. sorry, but I don't like bodies that look like they were left in the dryer a bit too long. I'd much rather have to hack the fenders on a regular sized body than run a itty bitty thing. of course, what I'd like even more than that is to have a body wide enough that major tire-tuckage can occur.

meh, I'm more of a scaler guy. if I was going to build a rock buggy, it would have a comp style body, but for a scaler I want tire tuckage. rock buggies and stuff like the Redbull Rockit are rarely street legal, sadly.

Scaler stuff is great and I agree with you, however, you have to realize that these bodies were made for competition. Everything about them was designed to be the ultimate comp body. While not perfect, I'd say that they are pretty close, IMO.
If you like scale, that is what Proline has the Bushwacker, Ambush, Blazer and others for.

Since they won't going for looks. Why didn't they round the top of them then. Like the VW Bugs. Better for roll-Overs. I like where there going with these. The C-10 is hope for more stylish Comp Bodies. Either way it's great Pro-Line is making these. Even if not everyone likes them. Who cares... Keep them coming. They can only get better....

I said "almost" perfect.:lol: Actually, I don't think that rounding off the top of the RockStar would have made much of a difference in a roll. The windshield is a bit abrupt but it still won't hinder forward progress like some might think. As for the Helios, the windshield is slanted from the upper hood up to the roll cage. This thing will not hang up on anything and rolls over as easily as most other bodies.

I don't think I have ever seen a prepainted body.

Those bodies look badass! The 72' is my fav though, almost as good looking as a pair of fake titties. Mmmm titties.

I like the C-10.

Just got my Rockstar on with wheels and tires.

You also have to consider those pics are take pretty high up on a chassis. Mine is slammed on mine and I think it looks tts.

I have to admit Dirk, that is a sweet looking body and rig. Hope to see it at a comp before April, but looks unlikely.
