Everyone with a crawler is welcome to attend. We will be running the 2.2 class and super crawler class. Please brush up on your rules and prepare your crawler to qualify. The rules are located here http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/showthread.php?t=15071

There will be discounted races that same day at High Desert Raceplace for whomever attends. No signup is necessary, just show up. There is no cost.

The location is Bangs Canyon on Little Park Rd 5.7 miles southwest of Rosevale Rd in Grand Junction at the Bangs Canyon Staging Area. Check-in at 9:30am and the competition should start sometime at or after 10:00 am.

Please show up before then at 8:30 am to help set up. We will need judges and time keepers too and we appreciate all the help you will give. Also a photographer *cough Doc* would be great!

There will be two courses at about 5 gates each and a special bonus (very tough) gate. This competition marks the beginning of the 2008 summer points series.

We will be going by the official rccrawler.com ruleset.

Also that day, we will begin forming the High Desert Crawler Club and if you like crawling here in Grand Junction, you will definitely want to join up and share your information.

If you need any more info, contact me, or contact Andy from High Desert Raceplace 970-255-1499

Hey a few questions:
took a drive up little park road, is the turnoff the little park bentonite area? or beyond this? I was not sure where we would be setting up course

Can more than one person use a rig to compete? ie can both my son
and I compete and use the one crawler we have?

Who are you asking to help judge/time etc. I have read the rules but not sure i am ready to judge since i hace never competed.
And Are we trying to get some of the guys from out of area to come over as well?

And Matt I am willing and would have some fun shooting pics, but wanna climb/crawl play as well. ( if we cant uswe the same rig for two people i bet my son woudl shoot pics for us, he usually does pretty good, especially if they are slow objects"thumbsup")

No, it is not the bentonite area, about 300 yards before that on the east side of the road, look for the big hill on the left. Although the bentonite area looks like a nice place for the 2nd comp.

Yes, more than one person can use the same rig to compete. Heck, bring all your friends to run your crawler. The more the merrier.

I am asking anyone who is coming to help judge/time, setup, etc.. but if you don't feel ready, don't sweat it. I think I can get it covered.

I am not trying to get people outside of the Grand Junction and nearby areas at this time. However, once the local scene and the High Desert Crawler Club becomes established, if we can attract a bigger sponsor and prizes, I think we can convince people further out of our area to come. Thankfully, we all have Andy from High Desert Raceplace to help spread the word. I hope I can get Hobby Hut and RC Hobbies too.

This location is no longer the site. The site is along the same road, 5.7 miles from Rosevale Rd at the Bangs Canyon Staging Area

Well, I just spoke with Andy, and it sounds like we are indeed getting some out of towners from Denver coming, and that is great news! Also, we are considering charging a small fee so at the end of the points series, we can give a prize away. Stay tuned for more information as it comes.

Oh really? So who do you have coming up from Denver sounds like it could be a good time. Might have to see if I can make something happen.

Dang, I graduate from Mines on the 9th, then I have to pack to move down to Junction. I should be able to hit some of the later comps though in the series."thumbsup"

Remember guys, if you have a 1/10 scale truck, buggy or 4WD, there will be discounted racing that day at High Desert Raceplace. You won't want to miss that either. Stock truck and modified buggy usually have a full grid on Saturdays.

I might be in?

Are the Denver guys planning on going over the night before?

Due to increased numbers of crawlers attending, the location of the event has changed. The location is 5.7 mi south-west of Rosevale Rd at the Bangs Canyon Staging area.
