Who is watching the inauguration today?

Oh no, you mean he is 24 hours into his presidency and he's only accomplished two promises? I was duped! And what about that part where everyone has been talking about the promises he already stepped back from-and yet the link that you just posted to hasn't found any that he has broken?

One of them he didn't even have anything to do with...he just said that he was going to do it.

Congress actually passed this before Obama was elected.

The measure, which will take effect in 2011, is intended to stop underreporting of capital gains taxes. It was passed with the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008, which the Senate passed on Oct. 1, 2008. The House passedit on Oct. 3, and President Bush signed it into law the same day.

Even though it happened before he took office, we're going to give him credit for it. He promised it, and it is now the law of the land. Promise kept.

He's also said that he's going to get the troops out of Iraq...but guess what? That's been in planning stages for some time now. Even Iraq wants us out and has given us a timeline to do so. But guess who'll get credit for it?

What's your deffinition of planning stages? I can plan to grow up and be rich all I want. Doesn't make a bit of difference until I do something about it.

Iraq has set a date...Does this sound anything like an inmate telling the prison gaurd "You know I think you guys can let me go at the end of this month, I've learned my lesson."

Don't, personally I'm doing pretty good "thumbsup"

Unless you guys are aware of some information that the rest of us aren't, I believe Iraq never asked us to come there. So by saying that they have set a date that they want us out by, they never wanted us to be there-what makes this time any different? Other than of course the fact that Obama is actually going to put the order out to bring everyone home?

The plans to bring them home were made before Obama took office. You sheep sure are gullible.

Obama is such a better speaker than Bush was.

It was painful to here him speak.....But I did support him.

Thats actually what convinced me to vote for him. I was watching the 1st debate's in 2000, and Gore seemed to contrived. Bush's bad speaking showed me a genuine/human side, and Gore looked like a plastic doll to me. Still does

Riiggghht...No race issues there, hmm?

Let's try this. Bush had his run, now it's this guys turn. If he screws up like Bush did, I'll jump ship. Until then, he was democratically elected by the people. Whether or not you believe it was through lies or slander or whatever you think, he won. Get over it.

Something like the Bush bashers have done so well for the last 8?

Idiot.

The only thing Bush ever did was keep some Mom's from carrying breast milk on planes and cut funding to things that really matter like Education and benefits for Veterans. Seven years? That's a pretty sorry record ...

:?:
The figures I've seen from the government show increases in both under Bush.

Really? You're wife must work with some very intelligent individuals, I bet she's top of the crop by now! I wonder how many of them knew of the Bush family's relations with the Saudi's that continued well into Bush Jr's first term, or of any any of the middle east's involvement in big Texas oil? Socialist views? Wow, what about the so called "Patriot" act and the list goes on ...

One of Bush's family business is oil. OPEC is controlled by Saudi's. The Bush family and the Bin Laden family have had relationships for many years. The Bin Laden family is very large. Just because One of your family members is bad, doesn't make the whole family bad.

Weather you like it or not, this IS the most important inauguration in recent history and it's not because of who was elected, it's because some idiots 4 years ago decided to reelect what should have been a lame duck president who had it in his plans to screw up as much stuff as he could before leaving office. Mccain or Obama, I'm just glad that shit is over ...[/quote]

Here we can find some agreement "thumbsup"

And spending billions of dollars in Iraq is what allows me to run my mouth on an internet forum?

Hopefully it will for the Iraqi people you liberals claim to care so much about.
It was also intended to help stabilize the Middle East, however, now we just have another nut case in Iran that wants to take Saddams/Iraq's place of power in the M.E.
Don't forget, President Obama will have to eventually have to deal with that issue.

I know, that's why I live here. I think we should leave them alone to do what they want there.

Live and let live eh :?:
Again, hopefully, after we've completed our mission, they (Iraqi people) will be able to.

-How do you figure? Before Bush came along, we had many of the same freedoms I'm currently enjoying. Then he came out with this "patriot act" crap and we lost alot of that freedom; right to a fair trial by a jury of our peers, right to an attourney, our stance on torture-should I continue? And let me guess, torture works? Then why does nearly every ex-interrogator say that torture actually had the opposite effect on detainees?

Let me get this One clear, you, your self has lost these rights?
Or are you talking about non US citizen detainees of a country we are at war with?

In the end of it all, I sure don't think the world will end because Obama won. I also don't have any false hopes of a worldly Utopian society either
I could care less about his color, its some of his idea's/views and mine that don't agree.
But....I love this country, It's the greatest country in the world to live in, and I am a fiercely proud American.
I wish the best for this country no matter who is in office, and I hope the best for our new President for the sake of our country.
God Bless America~~Land that I love!

It wasn't always like that.

Saddam pretty much declared WAR against the U.S.( Why do you think Congress backed Bush?)
Bush went to every country at the U.N and asked them if they have a right to retaliate. Do you know what they said?

FYI, When Desert Storm was about to kick off, the military had a back up plan for occupation if the Iraqi government collapsed. My point is that the plan called for 10 years of occupation.
Even if McCain was elected, the troops would've pulled out ANYWAY.

BTW, Biden was invited for a wargame on what was to be the 2003 invasion of Iraq. The only concern he voiced was Phase 4: The rebuilding of Iraq. If he was against it he should've said something sooner rather than 8 years later...

You mean like being in college? No? Hm, that's funny. This is my second year "thumbsup" So apparently since I don't agree with you I'm another one of those ignorant dumbass teenagers...Isn't that interesting?

As if McCain could do the same? My major problem on McCain's poor debates and town halls is he would spout off he knew how to fix something and move on, not even mentioning a plan. That right there is vote gathering on unfounded ideals.

You sir are mis-guided. First comes the Patriot Act, next is something worse more intrusive. The point to not support a wee-tarded Patriot Act is to prevent the Big Brother government spying on me. They can come in anytime they want with a proper legal search warrant...but the Patriot Act allows them to skip that step when "they" feel it matters.

The Bush lies about the Patriot Act were, "we'll catch terrorists!" So its another way for him to give the government the ability control and spy on its citizens that was enacted with a lie. Just like the war with Iraq.

do you even realize they stopped 3 attempts to take obamas life already with this shit? come on man...

Well ol' Obama lifted the ban on foreign aid from the US to be used for Abortion. That should send the Pro-Lifers through the roof.

whats interesting is that you seem to like to think you're so intelligent, when in reality, you haven't lived long enough to have any real life world experience, and most of your knowledge seems to come from a very slanted liberal bias. 60's hippy Parents perhaps?
BTW there are thousands of college graduates out in the world working as waiters/waitreess's.
An ounce of common sense goes as far as a pound of book smarts in most real world situations.

No, but that would explain a lot of your liberal views;-)
I knew a guy back in CA that had a masters degree (can't remember for what, though) that was a security guard. Everybody called him an educated idiot. Being in college at 16 in no way makes you better than anybody else. I hope you're still on RCC in 10-15 years so we can see what your opinions are like and how much they've changed once you've been out in the world....
