Are Shafties competitive anymore?

Worm gears can be good, and I think the Losi is gonna be a great rig, but shafty's will never be able to have the same low center of gravity and instant bind free dig as a MOA rig.

The Losi has bind free front & rear dig. I saw it!

The "less realistic" thing used to bother me too, till I drove a Berg ....

Me too

There are lots of us that came from 1:1 crawling that run MOA trucks. I like realism too, but that's what scalers are for.

Amen

i would'nt run MOA's if it was FREE and climbed the Hoover dam

Funny guy! :)

I don't care what nobody says about bergs vs MOA's ........... it all comes down to knowing your rig and practice. Until there is a rig that drives itself there are no cheater trucks.

After ECC I was talking to Austin & he was climbing this slick, steep rock w/his Axial. When he was done I tried it w/my Bully and couldn't get it & I just saw an Axial do it.

Also I was messin around trying to climb all the ledges that I could because that's where I have trouble. There was this one rock I couldn't get up. StIcK kInG took my radio & walked right up it, WTF!

Set-up, practice & knowing your rig are what it takes too win. NO MATTER WHAT YOU DRIVE. Now shut up & go practice ;-)

Not half way Utah at the Nats. We will compete there. It like getting ready for a MMA fight you practice I practice. We go to the Nats. And see who ranks highest. I'm not going to meet you in some parking lot. You might jump me. In september we will compete. May the best MAN AND CRAWLER WIN. Keep in touch with me guys.

I will be there bring your money.
I won super last year and 6th in 2.2 and bet I do better than that this year in 2.2
What organization are you qualifing with?

It practically writes itself........................

It would have to be with MiRca

That is what I was thinking:roll:And it looks like BT and Farmer are on the top up there.

And for the MiRCa qualifications you need to attend all 4 comps before the deadline. He's missed one already...short of Farmer and me missing an event (short of major issues that ISN'T happening).

Joe is a top notch driver and good guy. I'd hate to be putting my foot so far in my mouth when you have never even competed with the Best of the Michigan crawlers. None of us Michigan guys have beat Joe yet...

MISFITCOMPER: you are more than welcome to come out to the MiRCa events.
COMP #1---March 29th Davisburg
COMP #2---April 26th Auburn Hills
COMP #3---May 17th The Mounds
COMP #4---June 21st Marlette(Farmer's comp site )

:lmao:I'll buy you a plane ticket and ship your rigs and send Joe some gas money if you'll do this at LRC in Alabama. We'll do a live internet feed if you want. No need to wait till nationals.

Oh yeah!!! I'll bring Rockcrawler as well

When you are serious about competitions you use the equipment that gets the job done for you. Not what you are sentimentally attached to.

You don't see pro tennis players going to Wimbeldon with wooden racquets.

When I started, I had no interest in MOA or competing. Then I got bitten by the bug. Like Pdog said to stay competative you need a dang good dig and tranny digs just aren't getting it done right now. (Probably why Austin uses a d-shaft dig).

Shaftys are evolving (Losi's new crawler) and will even things out again. That's how crawling will continue to keep moving forward.

EDIT: And my money is on Joe

I'll put 2 grand down on Joe and a round of drinks for everyone.....even if they swap trucks.

There isnt a lot of difference between a berg and an axial, if set up with the same tires, wheel width (different offsets), chassis and shocks. You will have similar rigs, the berg will side hill better, a non stick dig, and will not have torque twist. It will also have a lower cg, but its not an xtreme advantage, so if you axial will climb a 70 degree angle the berg will do 75 mabye 80 degrees.
