why is that b.s.
I assume you mean the part about a higher power and our children.
What I meant was this. Basically what it comes down to are 2 choices. Either you believe in a higher power, or you dont.
If you choose to believe in a higher power, then you normally teach your children about that higher power, and what it means to follow that faith.
When you associate your beliefs, whatever they may be to teaching your children you tend to teach the morals that your religion teaches. For the most part all religions agree on these basic morals: Dont steal, kill, cheat, lie, hurt others physically or mentally, be kind, be helpful, respect your elders, have tolerance and follow the path of your "god". Most people understand these basic morals whether religiously inclined or not, and teach them to their children.
When you choose to not believe (and that is fully your right) you still teach you still teach your children the above morals, only you tend to emphasize tolerance of others as this is something you hold dear.
For me, tho I choose not to take sides, I'm personally all for my children going to church. I think its good for them. I also dont sit and tell them what they believe, I provide the information, and my opinion when they ask then let them choose. But when you take "higher power" out of schools, you also eliminate solid moral teaching. Dont believe me, check out the school curriculum, go ask your kids teachers if they are teaching them about sharing, lying, stealing, or any solid morals. They dont, and the reason they dont is because intolerant assholes (not calling you one) dont want anyone teaching their kids about any higher power. Im not saying that our schools should teach about God, Allah, Mohamed, Budda, or any other "god" What I'm saying... well if you dont get it now your not gonna.
