Anyone happy with the Losi?

I see all negative posts about the new rig. I am starting to regret ordering one. So is anyone happy with their rig? It would be a shame if this thing was a total flop right out of the box. So post your positive results on this rig here. :|
 
I am pleased with the losi, I set it up like jakes on the suspension and it held some pretty good lines a the rocks today for about 20 minutes when it got tough and started snapping axles. Now my berg run the same lines with less bounce and more stability on side hill. To me it seems to be just another shafty, BUT a little nicer than most.

LOSI = 20 minutes and no repair parts
BERG = 1 hour or more and finally got bored."thumbsup"
 
I was at the hobby shop the other day and he had about 6 of them in stock. I debated for about 20 minutes to buy one for my son or to wait and read the reviews here. At this point i think i am glad i waited and will wait to see how losi rectifies this problem. I am taking my son to a rock crawling practice session tomorrow and one of the guys was building a losi crawler when i went to the hobby shop. I'll see if he is out there tomorrow and how his holds up before i jump in. At this point i may just wait till the bugs of the first gen are worked out.
 
I broke both front CVDs today, 1 was 100% my fault lol. But I am VERY happy with the truck otherwise. I loved the way it crawled compared to my AX-10. I'm gonna get the losi fixed and sell the AX-10. There was another Losi at the crawl today and he reduced his steering travel and didn't break his. He even had it in a pretty good bind and it didn't break. Till there are stronger CVDs I'll reduce mine and see if that helps.

I am pleased so far after the first Grand Slam out of the Box there is a ton of pluses and just a few negatives but all have these same ups and downs
this type of Drive train I think is very different and requires a different very different driving style.So with that said I gues PLeased is almost Happy:mrgreen:

My Biggest Concern so far is Runtime any one else having short run times?

Well, I have had two Losi Comp Crawlers today.:roll: The first truck I bought today had some drive line parts missing off of the truck. I took it back to my LHS and swapped it out for a new truck. I am tearing down the second truck now. I wish I would have just bought another set of Berg axles now.
 
Love mine. I dont know if everyone is just leaving steering to the gods to adjust, but I knew that when I was setting my steering end point that full crank was not possible. Anyway the dig is there to help you turn sharper, after all the rig does not need to be turn from lock to lock. Everyone getting theirs soon, adjust the end point down a bit it will help to nurse the cvd's. After all its not a perfect world.

I am very impressed with mine. For the little drive time I had ay the comp today it was an amazing side hiller and climber. I will have to get some more run time in to fully appreciate the fine machine!
 
And it's been said before. . .- Just because you CAN turn that far, doesn't meen you SHOULD. . .

4.5 mm in the tubes. . .3.0mm @ the 'RCD CV' drive cup joint ? Fingers are crossed~

I think losi expected there to be problems which is why they only mailed out so many. When mine works I think its the combo to beat. With the right driver "thumbsup"8)

The clearance of the axles is the best out there, and the trany is one of a kind. That combo and my chassis thats in the mail will make it a killer combo.
 
Can't say one way or the other yet. After getting mine together I ran it in the living room floor for about 10 minutes and had motor temps over 200. 35t Warrior on 3c, Mamba Max. At this point I kinda afraid to hit the rocks before I have some replacement CVD's on hand. I know I drive hard, ask anyone at ECC this year:ror: I managed to break the Berg 3 out of 4 courses:shock::mrgreen: So I guess I'll take my time with this paint job:ror:

When I broke my axles open like JIA recommended they were bone dry. I filled the front and rear with Gear Jelly. I had some screws missing as well. I didn't find any LocTite on my rig at all so that took a bit also.

The screws on the beadlock are just crazy small! Good luck getting one of them out if your strip it.

A little more room for the dig servo would be nice, there is about enough room to put a sheet of paper between the servo and chassis.

Also seeing plastic being used for the dig is a HUGE letdown:shock: This will be another thing that will fail next.

And this is pretty petty but I don't like the fact that the body post come cut already. Mine looked like someone just took some wire snipes and cut them off, all rough/sharp at the ends.

I think it will be a good rig for some drivers when everything gets worked out. Worm drive axles are not the end all-be all of crawling. We will see short run times, higher temps, shorter motor life, and more broken parts.

Overall it is a great looking rig, it looks great even when it's sitting on the bench......I think that's where a lot of them will sit for a while. Losi should have addressed these issues before releasing them. I think the demand for them caused them to let them out before everything could be fixed. Now this rig has the potintal to crash hard if these issues are not fixed quick!
 
They'll get the issues fixed, it takes time. Some people are just blowing this out of proportion. Loose end happen, like the worm gear grease. END POINTS ON THE STEARING NEED TO BE BACKED DOWN, just cuz it can turn that sharp does not meen you need to.
 
I sure hope it doesn't fail. i've put all my crawling marbles into it. I think it will be ok, just needs to be driven differently, and not gas it when it gets stuck places.
 
I almost hate to comment about mine, but I will.....

So far I have ran my truck threw 7 battery packs, 3 yesterday and 4 more today. The first was in my garage and not over much of anything the last 2 yesterday were ran outside my house I have some rocks in the front yard and the lady neighbor has an elevated lawn about 1.5 feet and she has rocks from the sidewalk to the lawn. Today was all out in front of my house as well as the rocks in the neighbors yard.

I have had no real issue with my truck yet. I used high temp bearing grease in both axles, cvds and the transmission. I still have yet to use my front dig but other than that I am very happy with mine. Mine was number 31 off the line. I have had many Losi vehicles in my time and I am pretty confidante that Losi will make this right for all of those who have broken a cvd.

It sucks that people are having issues but it is part of the hobby.
