Why did you get a venom over the AX10

looking at a 2.2 rig. the price of the venom is very tempting.. I have read a tone of stuff about both of them. why did you personally choose a venom over the ax 10 since you could have gotten a used ax10 for a similar price? and since there is so much more aftermarket for the ax10. there had to be a reason why you got the venom .. Thanks for helping out a noob

Well I dont own one yet but I have made up my mind that I will own a creeper. And the reason beside the price is it is different than all the axials I see around my parts. Y.M.M.V.

the being different thing is kinda my hang up.. no local shops have the venom. so all replacement parts would have to be ordered... instead of driving a half hour to talk to someone who knows nothing about what I want ... but at least they have a a decent selection of spare ax10 parts....

loks like in the stock form the venom has a lower cg because of the battery location... but with the battery axle mount on a ax10 is that a factor?

Beeing different. And price. Just about everyone drives an ax10 (and for good reasons), but I wanted something different. I don't care for the endless choices of aftermarket parts for the ax. I like to make my own stuff, and there are already parts for the creeper available. And I guess it will be a lot more in a year or so.

I like building my own stuff, instead of dropping shit loads of cash on aftermarket parts, plus my creeper crawls better then most ax10's i see for a third of the cost.

i debated this same question for a while.. After alot of thought i went with the creeper. I dont do comps, so things like not having a dig available right now doesnt bother me at all. Im just out to have fun and bash around, and for that the creeper is awesome. Plus.. i dont like the fan boyism of the ax10.

The selectable lockers did it for me. I always wanted some for my Clod but couldn't figure a way to make them, and I have some in my full size Jeep so there was the cool factor. I bought it for bashing so the fact that they make it less reliable wasn't a concern, and to make easy obstacles a little harder you just open them up.

-Price. It's almost $100 less than a kit Scorpion.
-Being different. I like being the oddball ...except when it comes to parts
-Stock vs. stock. This is related to price. For what it comes with and $100 less?
-Looks. I just think the chassis of the Creeper is sexier.

Don't get me wrong though I do like the Scorpion but see my 2nd reason. Sure I can fix it up a Scorpion too but then why didn't I just get a Berg in the 1st place?
For me it really came down to Creeper or Losi Comp Crawler.

Why did you get a venom over the AX10

I'm sort of a renegade - I like doing things different, thinking outside the box. I anticipated the Creeper would have a few problems to iron out - I was right, but it's not a big deal because the customer support from Venom has been surprisingly, wonderfully superb!

I'm not an expert - and the price may change - but right now you can get a Venom Creeper for $135 and I just don't see how you can beat that any how, any way - undoubtedly the best 2.2 crawler deal of the century.

I had an AX-10, it was cool but sold it pretty quick...

Bent links, better tires-sorta... And no one had one. Cool color, remote dill lock can be put in easy.

I want one to put the axles on my scaler. You cant use dig in scale class but there is no rule yet about locking and unlocking the axles. And Im using a proline f650 body now, and it has a 14 inch wheel base so I need all the help turning I can get. With the price drop Ill be ordering one soon.

I get a good bit of my stuff from ckrc for me creeper but if u go to hot racing and look at the creeper hop-up u will see that there is a good bit of AX10 stuff on the same page and my budy has an AX10 and hands down the creeper put it in its place with less mony and I hav e put less cash in mine and I am a nub to but I messed with his and I love the way the creeper is on the rock than the AX10 and I know there are going to be a few going no no no but that is my first hand acount

The parts are good but the first thing I got was a new drive shaft cuz it didn't lock good but the way to fix that is to drill and tap the trans and u a good bit of lock tight. I got the lock out to for the rear end and kept all the parts as spars. The only thing I messed up was the c-hubs when the pen came out and busted up the hole thing and bent the pin in the dog bone.

My buddy got an AX10 and I wanted to have somthin diff. Plus I love the stock shocks a bit more than Axials.

Not a comp runner, just a crawler.

For me it was pretty simple.
I drove a fully hoped up axial with a great setup and just about any upgrade availble. And then I drove the same course on a bone stock, freshly built creeper, that only had some weight in the front wheels and hot-bodies whites, and both rigs preformed the same. So the desicion was pretty simple for me.
