Harley's RubberBelly Racing Build

Really glad to see someone else trying there hand at molds"thumbsup" I was curious how the lexan would work and it seems to work real good. I may be making some lexan based bodies in the near future8)

Keep it up! i want to see more carnage out there!!!!

BTW the aluminum I use is from dick blicks: http://www.dickblick.com/products/pure-metal-tooling-foil/

I found some of that same stuff at Hobby Lobby today, except it is 1/3 the length and a couple dollars more money

I have a couple ideas to try and do most of the body from aluminum. Kind of worried how to mount the whole front end. :?:

Formed a new panel tonight using the new aluminum sheeting I picked up. It was so much easier with the clean starting sheet.

I just ordered the 10 foot roll tonight, unfortunately it cost more to ship it then it did to buy it:ror: oh well it was still a good price.

I would do like i did on my comp truck, separate each panel then run tubing just under the fender lip and weld tabs or nuts to the tubing to secure it to. you can't see it now my photobucket account is down but once it get it back up you'll see what i'm talking about.

I dont know if this helps, but today i was looking for aluminum for my other build and thought about checking out the heating and cooling area in the hardware store. Its not the galvanized stuff but you can get the aluminum one piece sheets either in a roll or in the pressed ready to hook up dryer tubes. Its thinner then most aluminum sheet stock and thicker than pie tins. The rolled sheets was 2 yards for $12.98 and the single pressed tubes were $3.59 ea. I found them at Ace Hardware. maybe that will work for you as its really easy to cut with scissors but stronger than pie tins. I do believe it was .015 or .018
