shocks mounting

I am about to get a Creeper.

I see a few rigs with the shocks mounted with the lower arms. This will work for me as I want to mount Nimh cells on the axle and would prefer the shocks moved to the lower arm mounts.

This I can see is easy.
Now here comes the tricky bit. Can I do a BTA with the shocks on the lower mounts.
If not then I can do a high steer in front of the axle but I really want to have 2x2 cells on the axle and 2 more on the upper arms and then to have BTA.

All ideas are welcome and as a new guy here I have my fireproof suit ready. "thumbsup"

Hello!
What you refer to as shocks on the lower links is known as "Stage II" and this is a kit that comes with hardware (longer links) and such - but is doable if you can make longer links and drill a few holes...

BTA and lower shock mount is no option as they will collide with the arm connecting the wheels and with the arm to the servo

I'm using BTA and I try a different outer shock location (outside of stock) and this gives me a bit more room for the servo and a LIPO on the front axle (I hope)

See my pics in this thread regarding this:

(page2)

In my pics I haven't yet fabricated a new plate for the servo or the LIPO, but I intend to try to put them side by side - and if this doesn't work out I will use Velcro on the servo to mount the LIPO's on top.

I use 1 LIPO front and 1 rear...

I have a CKRC stage II kit and a BTA doesnt seem likely, i also have a custom mounted axial servo/battery plate if you want to go check out my build thread to see how it was done and how the steering links are as of now.

The stage 2 mods are easy enough, I can fab up metal parts myself.
I will wait until mine gets here and then start measuring up for battery locations. Sub-C Nimh.

What is the main advantage of moving the shocks to the lower arm mounts ?

I can live without BTA and will go with a high steer setup.

you cant bta with the stage 2, i know ive been trying to figure that out. im gonna try and go stage three and fab up some new upper shock mounts and move the lower shock back to the stock position. bta would be great b/c i keep hanging up on my steering links. will post pics if i can get it to work

BTA is one option, the other is a high steer setup
