Motorcycle guys...

Now you're talking...that would be my preffered route, you get a modern engine and fuel injection system with the Buell power plant, support and a readily available parts network. A salvaged Buell can be had fairly reasonably with a title to make registration easier. I've always had a thing for the british twins and the early twin Hondas.

What are your plans with these? Are you going to ride with a buddy and cover some miles or just hop around town and be a social butterfly? If you think you're going to cover some miles, I'd really steer you away from anything with a hardtail...you can get the same look and style with some of the more custom soft-tail frames, your guts and back will thank you for it.

Just tooling around town and to work when it's nice out.

Social Butterfly? I like that...

Maybe I can get Kenny to do that as my next tramp stamp???

bobbers are sweet. but IMO the sound is almost just as important as the look. definitely not gonna get that same sound out of 200cc

heres a pic of the size. i dont think they are too small for a bobber

Just so I understand.. These are not hardknocks. Most are Yamaha XS650s that have been hardtailed and raked. The XS is a great platform to start with, they are very easy to work on and parts supply is awesome. You can even thro a magneto with a cap and kick with no battery. Love these bikes, they used to be cheap as hell, but with the popularity they have gained your lucky to find a running XS under 1500.00

I paid 600 bucks for mine it was an 82 Xs special2. I ended up parting it out for 5x the money on ebay.

Redneck Eng. has a bobber for the Buell that is sick. But with the Buell gone now I don't know that I would build one.

With the Kikker bike you can drop a Honda motor in them. The motors that are in the are really Honda motors anyways.
 
I seen all kinds of stuff come through the shop in the last 30 years worked on some real nice bikes and worked on several i would not throw my leg over the seat but its all what suits your style do some research before you purchase.Cant go wrong sticking a honda motor in one though way easier to maintain.
 
id love to ge a kikker to tool around the neighborhood with but ill prolly end up with a bobber pedal bike :(

Looks like a Nightster with flat paint and a new seat to me? And a fat front tire.

Almost, but there are some differences. I ditched the fork boots and the headlight. The larger front tire also required swapping to a wide-glide tree. Pretty much any sportster is about the same except for the gas tank.
