The manual says it will smoke the DX7, but I know some of you have 3s LiPos in your tx's. Does the 3s smoke it or not?

some transmitters are designed for 6-7.4 volts, others are designed to run 8 aa batteries, or a nominal 12 volts. a 3s lipo will provide 12.6v down to 9v, a 2s lipo will be good for 8.4 to 6 volts. make sure of what your transmitter is rated for input voltage.

this is the issue, the dx7 runs on 8AA battery packs, but the manual clearly states NOT to use a 3s LiPo.

apparently a lot of people are doing it anyway...

I'd love to do that, but I'm fairly new to electronics so I really don't know how it is done.
