Wisconsin Crawlers INFO

I'm From Appleton. I will have my first crawler in a few days and I'm looking for some places in the area to go crawling. Anyone know of any spots?

From Prairie du Chien. Nothing in the house yet for crawling, but I did just win a Pajero on the 'bay. Looking forward to trying this thing out. There's lots of terrain options in these parts. As I'm literally just getting into this(1st rc), I prolly won't be hauling stuff around yet....just bashing round here.

Other pertient stuff: I'm a photographer. I own a bike shop. I ride Mtb a ton. Road too.

Welcome to the site and to the hobby, martini! If I remember your area correctly, there's lots of great rock to use for RC crawling around there. You're not too far from the MN Rock Crawler clubs location, you may want to check them out.

Sounds like we would get along well! I ride MTB, not a ton, but as much as I can, and also dabble in photography."thumbsup"

Hey guys! I'm in the Appleton area and hit High Cliff State Park whenever I can. Thanks for reminding me about 1,000 Islands. Been by there a million times, but never thought to run there. Also, Devil's Lake is on my list for camping and trail bashing. Never been there, looks awesome! Anyway, I'm new to this board and thought I'd jump in and say hi!

I live in Elkhorn, WI and have a crawling spot in Jefferson at a freinds house. This is my first crawler, but I am not new to RC. Since I got this thing it has been a blast.

hey guys, jed here, 36 yrs old and been in crawling now for about 9 months. i'm from fond du lac.

my neighbor has a concrete dumping site that i plan to ask to run on, and i also own 30 acres of woods with a creek that has some river rock on the shoreline. theres a few spots in the woods that are rocky as well, just wish they were bigger areas (probably perfect for scale crawling tho). i dont live far from the kettle moraine parks, so i should really check for some spots out there as well. i just made an indoor course in my basement, however, its a little too small to crawl with my 2.2, so it was an excuse for me to buy the losi mrc... now i can run multiple lines on my course! check out my link: http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/showthread.php?t=135563
if you're nearby and interested in crawling, just send me a pm!

my crawlers: three ax-10s, one losi mrc.

Hey guys, Max here.
Living in Monroe, about 40 minutes south of Madison. Should have my first crawler ( XTM ) up in a few days, just got the ESC yesterday. I live in town so im looking for a place to crawl and some good pointers/advice.

Hey everyone! I'm in the Appleton area and always looking for someone to run with. I have a couple trail rigs, a modded Wheely King (more of a monster than anything) and a Riinox/T-Rex60 crawler that I just got together, needs lots of tweaks yet. I run mostly at High Cliff or wherever I happen to be camping during the warmer seasons. I haven't made it to Devil's Lake yet, but it's definitely on my list. I was at Point Beach last weekend, and found some scrub/sand areas and lots of wooded trails which were fun, but not much for rocks. I'm sure I'll be heading back that way again to explore. Anyway, keep all us Wisconsinites posted for GTG's in the coming spring/summer season. I look forward to meeting some local rc people. I also race dirt oval at the Oshkosh Hobbytown track, stop by and check it out sometime!

Have a good one!
Troy.

Hey TrailDawg, check out Kasper's threads here in the Wisconsin forum. He's in Appleton and has a sweet course set up inside for the winter.

I have a friend that runs his truck there, and says it's pretty sweet. He also said the guys there all have comp level rigs, I'm not even close to having mine set up that well. Still sounds like fun, though.

Hey J, saw the pics of your truck on Casper's course. Lookin' good "thumbsup". Wednesdays are out for me, sorry to say. I'd like to check out the course sometime, though. Maybe there will be a weekend gtg I could possibly make. The Riinox tuber still needs lots of work before it's fully capable...but I'm working on it.

Update on Petrified Springs Park, Tuesday, Nov 11th. Yesterday afternoon my dad and I went out to Pets for about 45 minutes with the crawlers. I tried a new spot ( one that I thought I remembered from 10 years ago back when we used to mountain bike some of the more difficult trails ). Sure enough I found one of the coolest, most rutted out hills. After you navigate your truck DOWN the hill ( about 30 - 40 feet of elevation change ) there is a large area on the bottom with a creek and you can then crawl back up towards the parking lot. I'm going to print out a map of pets and try to chart out exactly where I was so I can share it with you guys. BTW, this was on the North side of Pets if anybody else is familiar with the area.

WiRCRC is a pretty good club. I am new to it and they made me feel very welcome. Keep an eye on the posts here and hope to see you at a comp if you go.
