RcBros Berg Build

Well finally got the issues worked out with my electronics so I took it out for some crawling today at a local water fountain spot that has never been turned on lol.

Rig did o.k. for its first time out. These pink rovers will be taken off as soon as the whites come in. They are horrible when dusty and bounce more then a bouncy ball

I think they'll be good for wet conditions and thats about it.

The Hangar 9 servo horn is junk. It lasted about 15 mintues before it was bent and stripped.

Here's some pictures of the outing.

Good to here you got the elects figured out.
Try a Robitronics horn, they're much beefier than those Hanger 9s.

Problem is trying to find a robotronics horn, is the racers edge strong enough?

I am running the racers edge (pro) servo arm on my Daughters Ax10 comp rig and it has held up pretty good.(The non pro version is weak).....I have the same steering as you on my Berg but my servo is flipped 180 deg...so I don't have the issue..you should try and find a CDW or CKRC upper link mount so you can do the same"thumbsup"

I have the CKRC upper mount in the mail to flip my servo 180*. I'm having a horrible time finding either the robotronics or racers edge horn in stock with the white rovers at the same place. Some places want twice as much for the rovers then others, so I think i'm going to get the JR clamping style horn. I've read a few good things about that one as well.

Just p.m mann0mann I think he can help.....he has all the stuff you are looking for in stock 99% of the time "thumbsup" oh and you still might have some servo arm clearance issues if you want to move your servo back. I made a new mounting plate and then had to relocate the CKRC upper mount back to.

I got 3 servo horns on the white along with another set of white rovers.

Thanks guys

Just saw this, but too late. I have a NIP Robitronics servo horn for Airtronics that I am sure we could have worked out a trade on. Truck looks good, BTW.

Went practicing again today and I'm in love with this thing. My only complaint is my tires hitting my springs.. I'm trying to find a remedy to solve this so I can get just alittle more steering.

Well I got some C clups from Doug and picked up the CKRC OTA setup..

I first tried the entire CKRC setup. It seems alittle better then the RCI but it for sure needs bushings installed at the knuckles. It also seemed to flex forward or back in some binding situations.

I then flipped the knuckles back forward and installed the RCI Link. For those of you who don't know, prior to the CKRC mount I was having problems with the outside tires knuckle bouncing in and out at full lock and under throttle using the RCI OTA kit. This would cause the 300's to bind during sharp turns, something no one wants. The cause from what I can tell is the entire link flexing. I simply just don't have time to machine one before this weekends AWCQ. I tried several different servo horns, and steering link lengths with no luck. It was so bad I ended up snapping a 300 pin on sundays comp. A very hard task to do!

So I've heard good success with the RCI link and CKRC servo mount. The flexing is less, but still there and still binding the CVD's..

I'm not sure what else to do at the moment. Both links have there faults.

The tire will lock and not allow the motors to turn the axles

That was happening to me as well, next time it happens look at your tire and lower link, mine was grabbing the lower link and locking the front up. Try spacing your lower links in 1/8". That caused my tire to hit the shock a little more which the tire slides off of. It's worth a try, it worked for me. Hope you figure it out.

Great build and great feedback on the Pink rover's need to return mine and get some whites or sedonas :)
