Axial XR10 Kit

Any word on how much this things weighs? Or maybe just what one axle weighs? This looks awesome. It's exactly what everyone was expecting and then some. Very exciting Axial.

You could get it at or under 4lbs I bet. But there is a point of deminishing returns there.

Not sure how effective cutting brakes will be. I tested them on a shafty 4 years ago and could turn sharper with just plain dig. There was not enough weight/traction with one rear tire trying to hold the rig. I suppose it could help in some wedge situations, but I don't see it helping too much for turning tighter.

When will these ship to vendors?

I have heard 2 weeks to 2 months.

and how much?

I have heard as low as $289 on the boards, and $460 from Hobby clown for the kit.

Cutting brakes are not just used to turn sharper. I'll say it now that cutting brakes will change the comp scene.

Cool, I hope you are right. Will be interesting to see them in action.

Anyone else notice how wide the upper links are at the chassis? The rears are spaced out more than the fronts, too.

X2!!!

Think about a ledge where one wheel is being pulled under a crack or into a hole, but dig wont pull you up. You may think to yourself man I wish I could just drive three wheels not just two or four.

Welcome to cut brakes!

Most impressive...can't wait to build one

The only thing I can see in the pics that concerns me is the small turnbuckle style steering links.

They appear that they might fail under extreme load, possibly pulling out from the rod ends; I'm picturing the early AX10 days with the rear lock outs failing.

I'm sure that the Team drivers put this rig through the ringer though, so my concern is probably null.
