super wheels and tires

the latest tires/wheels that i made are the best ive run yet. I use the blast spoke wheels and narrow them fairly simple and with the new age of the streering super a very light combo when coupled with a SUPER XL ROVER white. I narrow the wheels and glue them back together. cut the sidewalls out of moab xls stretch them over the 4.5 inch wheels. cut the bead out of the rovers to the rib on the side wall and depending on how much moab side wall you use you can achieve around an 8.25-8.5" Rover. They work awesome. I use Crawler innovations foams.

Pictures or your a liar :shock:

I'm guessing they look a little something like this??? :shock:

To be honest....I kind of FUBAR'd this one. IMO, it needs more Moab xl sidewall and less rover sidewall. it's way to skinny for my taste and the thread wrinkles a little which kind of defeats the purpose. luckily I only cut up one XL so far and I can still use these rover treads. Just gotta find another damn Moab xl...

TCS here i come....aaaaagain LOL

@TURBOFEST

Perfekt work with no wrinkles and edges from a tire artist "thumbsup"

Sweet! Those look just like the ones I made. "thumbsup" I'm right at 8" too. I used a stock moab xl foam narrowed with stock rover foam glued all the way around and they are working great.

After seeing all the different ones you have done, I had to try it. I only wish I would of done some cut n shuts sooner. "thumbsup" They perform SO much better than anything else I've tried. "thumbsup""thumbsup"

When it comes to Supers most of the really cool pieces are made at home in your shop. There is very few parts that just bolt on to a good Super anymore

turbo and agama, your tires are both so sick. it's really impressive how far you and the other tire builders are pushing things. it's an inspiration for me for sure!

That's very true. Some people see that as a bad thing, but for others, myself included, it's the reason why they love the class so much.

Hey Agama....how wide is your rig with those tires and the blast wheels & what hex's do you run?

Right now from outside of the tires I am 14 1/4" and I am using the RC4WD 17mm adaptors. I narrowed the blast wheels to 1.5". I am switching to Losi 1/8 truggy hex's and that should narrow me up about 1/2". "thumbsup"
