Sick of worms?!!! I got the Cure!

I figured it was bearings like I just replaced.

What was it cogging or just binding up easily?
My bearings are defiantly due. I have a ton of slop in the ones in the knuckles. Next tear down will include an entire rebuild.

I could crawl all day long just fine. My ESC would shut down completely If I went from idle to full throttle, full power was not there and if I could get to full throttle eventually it would start out with some wheel speed but then slow down really fast.

I am back to running a 10.5 motor. Its by far the best motor I have run. The smoothest at low speed and obviously the most wheel speed of any.

Ok, now I'm anxious to see some wheel speed videos  10.5 turn motor....that's half of what I run ! What pinion gear are you running?? Thats got to be some POWER !! Does that thing wheelie now ???

Running 12t pinion. I really dont think its obnoxious as you would think. Lots of wheel speed, yes, wheelies, no.

I have been swamped with work, weather is crappy and all of my transmission bearings went out so I am replacing those today or tomorrow. I will try and get some video.

i guess i need to order a set of these babies, only 4-5 hours on the moa losi i got and broke teeth off the rear worm and same for the front.... maybe after i get these here ill give the dual 13.5 brushless a go agian, i think it gave me trouble today due to worms binding thus making it easy to stall them and give poor ultra low speed and startup trouble. maybe these will allow the burshless setup to work as well as i wanted it to....

 Awesome

was just testing them for an hour yesterday because front brushed motor need rebuilt.

and actually it wasnt any faster than the dual 31t jph motors the way i had it geared.... but it sure would rip the tires loose when needed, it was almost violent  i know your running a 10.5 but dual 13.5s would be awesome right?

get those worms to me quick im ordering them this morning "thumbsup"

Shipped!

Keep us updated on the motors and show some vid if you can. As soon as I get time I think I am going to try an MOA. Knowing if those motors work would be a good head start.

i plan to give it hell this weekend with the new rotors, novak dig, and your worms. i doubt ill have any trouble breaking in your worms  i need to go count how many spare cvds and drive pins i have though

ERICK, this thing is SICK with the new worms things are SOOO smooth and quiet its unbelievable! and btw dual 13.5 brushless is the best thing since sliced bread, this thing has v3 cvd shredding power, and is impossible to stall or make the front cog.

Awesome! Glad youre happy. The worms only get smoother as they wear.

Smooth Worms

I have definately noticed that they have gotten smoother !!! "thumbsup"
I think that I am going to switch from a 17T to a 18T pinion this weekend, the added smoothness makes me think that my 21.5T motor will handle the 18T pinion. :flipoff::flipoff:

Speaking of wheelies......I have been able to pull some decent 5ft. long reverse wheelies on the right kind of ground surface (concrete or carpet). That I could NOT do before the new Dlux worms !!!!!

I am working on your vid too. Just busy. I will get one up soon though. Even if it is just a driveway/home course run.

I am really sold on the 10.5 motor.

roughly 8 hours on them now, i took them down to check lube, looks like i just put them in there. i cant believe how well its woorking with the worn down spool.

Here are some vids of the 10.5. I am fighting to make this motor work. Still up in the air between the 13.5 and 10.5. The 10.5 is lacking just a touch of torque. Enough to make a finicky rig more finicky which, I do not like. Right after taking these vids my car started not working as well. It had been awhile since I had lubed the worms. After lubing them it was back to working good. For this reason I may go to the 13.5 and just gear up.

Anyway, here you go. Forgive the crappy vid. Its hard to take while trying to drive. The last vid is a gap that you have to jump. Its about 12" across and 4' down. Hard to see that part in the vid.

Hi Erik,

first .... all your worms are still working fine "thumbsup"

second....which 10.5T and ESC do you run at the moment. I´m not sure to switch to brushless but I thinks its time.....

Hey,

Glad everything is working good!

I am running a 10.5 Novak SS Pro and a Mamba max pro. As I said above, I think I will be going back to the 13.5 as a better all around motor. If I want more wheel speed I am just going to gear up with pinions or over time the motor with my mamba max.

Wow, in that first video I was impressed with the acceleration of your rig !! That thing can get up and go !! And that last video, your rig can jump like a freakin Bull Frog !!! That was pretty impressive, it kept the nose up and landed flat as well.

Tried the 18T pinion this weekend, I think I need to go to a 19T or 20T, still plenty of power/torque left.

I had my rig next to my buddies rig and I was turning his drive shafts and was amazed on how stiff and rough they turned next to mine that has Dlux worms, my driveshafts turned silky smooth by hand in comparison. "thumbsup"
