Well since the sportbike season is about over for us here a bunch of the guys off our local forum are going to do some big wheel racing. At first I was going to just grab a big wheel but then I decided to build one...

Full suspension! Rear is a one link with panhard, still have to pick up the new shocks and replace the springs with some I sourced with a lighter spring rate.

Here is the video of the first two test rides. Speeds were in the mid 30's but the hill isn't all that steep. Should be perfect though when you get 6 or 8 of us on it though.

Please please PLEASE post some pics of 6 or 8 of you riding on that. Little advice, when you guy's sit on each other in that 1 seat, make sure no ones turned on, might be an uncomfortable ride :flipoff::lmao:

Side note: That looks awesome, I'd so ride one, just without the extra people on top of me

You need to load that thing up and bring it a little further south to some real hills. "thumbsup"

:lmao:

1) Go out and invest in a HD Hero.
2) Stick that bitch on your melon.
3) Go and find at least a 10% grade, Sally. Might I suggest the hill on south bound Pflumm Rd just north of Blackfish Pkwy. I have a deck with an awesome view that I can video/drink/dial 911 from."thumbsup"

kinda cool, but you missed the flat spot on that front tire...

everyone knows REAL big wheels got a flat spot on that front tire, and damned if you had it enough, it would be split by now.

i can't wait for the wipe-out shots.
"thumbsup"

Headtube is more than strong enough for onroad use. It will get a gusset though in case of an unexpected offroad venture.

Front pegs were made on Sunday, just couldn't wait to ride it first. Speed and handling is first priority with this one. There are 3 more in fabrication here locally right now. Brakes are still a concern...

need to use go cart type tires & wheels on the rear !!
then U could have individual rear disk cutting brakes,
would turn like crazy

told U i did gravity racing a wile back !!
i know all the good hills here in KC, lets go !!

now ill have to build one

What's a big wheel without scary plastic wheels on the back to drift with?

These things are hard to come by. Me and a couple friends found that a Huffy Spin Move was the best size with some slight mods for us big kids.

I hit 45 on this thing. Match it :flipoff:

(not me, I like my skin and wear shirts while playing on asphalt)

You are talking about a bunch of sportbike guys that are looking to rail corners more then play around drifting. Faster is better :flipoff:

I will try and find something to make mine drift so I can mess around but I am much more interested in blasting downhills and battling it out with some other re-re's on bastardized bigwheel contraptions!

Scott actually suggest go-cart stuff too. I am thinking that the next one I do needs to be high end, all designed in Solidworks and constructed from plasma cut plate like a desert racer 8) I would like some indepedent rear braking!

Hilarious"thumbsup". Very cool. Gavin and I should do something like that. I bet we would get a lot of laughs out of that.

This reminds of when I was a kid, I had a plastic Flintstones Wagon. We had a corner house on a court. The court was on a slight hill and we (the neighborhood kids and I) would take the wagon to the top of the court and ride the wagon down to the bottom. We wore holes into the plastic wheels doing power slides at the bottom of the court:ror:. We did the same thing with plastic big wheels. If only we had something cool like this. Nice work Josh:twisted:

Like I said, you need these to finish the project...

1979 Honda Civic
30 feet of bungee cord
1 pair of Chuck's
An old tire

Good job not dieing:flipoff:
