OH yes, Stone Pillow ..... more are coming 8)

was the 5955 replaced by the 7955 ... 333oz /6v

never mind .... found it "thumbsup"

Hitec's best servo just got better. Based on the powerhouse HS-5955TG servo the HS-7955TG has the added benefit of our G2 second generation programmable digital circuit. This new circuit has twice the resolution of our original circuit while adding programmable overload protection. The HS-7955TG has been designed for the most demanding hobby applications including the largest aircraft and monster trucks. Featuring a titanic 333 oz./in. of torque at 6.0 volts, all this power is harnessed by incorporating the industries first Titanium gears for incredible wear resistance and two strong hardened steel gear pins and axial brass bushing in the servo case.

In a perfect word :lmao: .....

I'm hoping to fit a summit tranny
HH 7t puller
On 4 cells

 yep, sounds perfect

Watch the 7t on 4 cell...it gets hot quick, and JRH told me that 35,000 rpm was max for the 7t. I have run my Bronco on 4s a few times at our last TTC, and it really ripped, but I was just waiting for it to throw a wind. 4s is about 42,000 rpm on a 7t. Just don't want you to destroy a "classic" hard to find motor .

looks like a sweet rig!..........I cant get enough of these TTC trucks"thumbsup"

I'm in the planning stages of my first scale/ttc project, so I'm trying to learn all I can. what exactly is this servo drift that's being discussed?

thanks

When you mod a servo into a winch they have a hard time centering themselves, and you can find yourself having to constantly trim the channel to keep it from slowly spooling in or out. With the newer Hitec servos, you can widen the deadband with a special programmer, but I don't have one. So this guy "wantAsummit" made an adapter that goes in between the servo and receiver that has a 2 pots so you can widen the deadband and trim the servo. I've been testing it for a few weeks and it seems to work perfectly.

Seems that the failsafe mode on the servo needs to be disabled for it to work, and I don't have any way to do that myself, so I haven't been able to try it out on that rig. I really believe that a servo winch is the only way to go on a TTC rig.....

Tim,
If you want to ship it to me, I can program it out for ya...

Not to mention, Pullers love to suck dirt and mud into them and kill themselves.

I would suggest a brushless motor for the TTC.

BTW, how about 4ws on this beast???

Looks good, but drop the spare tire mounted on the rear. Not needed in a TTC and just adds weight and gets hung up on stuff.

I had a vendor on another forum modify some servo winches for me. Basically eliminated the pot so there was no way it would drift off center. Nice thing was everything fit right back into the servo case, no extra wires or anything. I'll see if he's a vendor on here and get him to pm you.

Huge thanks to R2J Kustoms for the great 4 link truss .... very nice work , thanks "thumbsup"

Looking good Aaron! Thanks for the props! Can't wait to see how it turns out!"thumbsup"

How well would a brushless motor hold up in TTC rig at the 2011 MSD event?

Can you run rear steer at the MSD event?

Ask Andy :lmao: Sorry, had to put that in there as he ran into some issues. For the most part, I think they're actually better given that they're a sealed unit. I went with a brushed motor, more of an open can design, and had it die on me partway through in about 4 events before it finally smoked and I ran the rest with a Tamiya silver can . If you go brushed, make sure to try and seal it up well.

Rear steer wasn't allowed this year, however new scale rules are being developed. Can't say anything since they're not finalized yet, but I'd put in rear steer anyways. You can always lock it out if need be "thumbsup"
