In the warmth!
New specs & pics on page 2... 8)

After seeing the vids and various threads I just had to give it a go.
Looks like too much of a blast not to!

Odds & Ends? Built with stuff I already had layin' around.
Only thing new is a pair of Proline Sand Paws.
Already had a set from ages ago I found in a box of tires.

I'm sure this will be tinkered with, fondled and upgraded as usual.

But for now here's what we gots...

BWD Wedge Chassis. (Now an Axial SCX10 Chassis)
Axial front axle; Al. C's & Knuckles, Axial Comp. Universals, overdrive gears.
Axial rear axle; BWD 4 link mount, VP Razor mounts.
Axial tranny w/slipper, metal gears and RR one piece steel output gear.
MIP driveshafts.
Traxxas 3S VXL System.
JR 9100T Servo.
Front shocks; unknown, Rear shocks; Integy MSR11's.
Proline 2.2 Sand Paws on 2.2 Titus Beadlocks.

Still need to figure out a body and do some testing but seems to have some nice wheel speed on 3S.

Nice Robotboy. "thumbsup"

I just started a thread in our FL section about interest in F-OFF.

I have a perfect spot, an old clay/sand pit right here by the house, we need to get together and sling some dirt. I just need to get some tires.

KennyJ has seen the spot and it is fantastic for the F-OFF rigs.

Thanks guys. I can't wait to sling some sand and mud!

I'll be there when you're ready Matt, these things look to be fun as hell!

Small vid of speed/test run.

First parts I'm running PL Dirt Hawgs.
Last part I'm running the Sand Paws.
Not to bad but wanting more speed. Thinking better batts as well.

Small update for ya'll...

After some testing;
I swapped out the underdrive gears in the rear for stockers.
Replaced the 5645 servo for a JR 9100T. 5645 didn't hold up to my abuse.:ror:
Extended the rear & chassis to increase wheelbase to 13".
Also had to replace the bearings in the motor, front bearing blew up.

A couple of new pics, Dirt hawgs are my test tires.

Robotboy's FOFF (Retooled)

The BWD Wedge chassis worked fairly good. But I decided to go a more traditional route.
Plus the wedge was a PITA to fit all the goodies and the bigger batteries I was needing to use.
Picked up a SCX10 chassis and went to town. Gonna try chassis mounted servo but I dunno about that.

With this chassis and the extended wheelbase I needed to use my rear D/S for the front.
Which left me a shorty for the rear, which is already extended.
So instead of paying to have my D/S lengthened, I fabbed up this little diddy...

Much more to come............

nice, is that a stock ax-10 chassis cut down for side plates? looks cool! i hope you dont get pinion/ spur failure on the hills. looks like it would be a PITA to change out.

looks good what is the wb at now

Thanks, it's just over 13".
My rear shaft was at it's limit before the switch.
Now I can go longer, and may

Yup, stock ax10 plates. My shock towers are the ends of them. "thumbsup"
4 screws & the shaft set screw and the doo-dad comes right out. ;-)
(has yet to be tested, hope it holds up)

Did a small test run yesterday with the new setup.
Insane wheelspeed with the 50/16 32 pitch gears. Maybe too much
Lost the male half of my rear shaft so I was sporting a plastic one,
which of course lasted a whole 5 minutes.....

Picked up a body from the LHS. It's the only one they had that fit.
Don't look too bad, I guess.

I can tell you one thing about it...................................

It hauls a$$. :ror::ror::ror::ror: Damn thing is silly fast.

We went out to my secret sand pit to run them after the comp on Sat. We are both working the bugs out of our rigs but he is alot closer than I am. I need a tranny for mine still. Grenaded mine in about 5 mins. Bob's just had driveshaft issues.
