War Pig's all new '34D

[War Pig]

Time to get going on a new rig now that Short Willy is headed east.

This will be my new Class 3 truck.

The '34D "thirty for d"

SCX10 chassis rails, rebent with a delrin flat skid.
Parma '34 Ford pickup cab
Tekin Pro4 brushless short course motor
Tekin RS Pro (on 3s)
Axial transmission: Robinson Racing gears, Vanquish case, 32 pitch gears
GCM t-case
Axial axles: wide beef tubes, XR10 (chubs, knuckles, axles) Hot racing lockers, hardened gears.
Hitec 7980 front, 7950 rear
Quicksand winch
Integy shocks: partial droop
Full interior
Tube bed

......and lots of bitchin' tube work and gussets. Since I'm going with a lexan body this time *cough* cough* I'll have to make up for it with some cool touches.

Should be fun!

That slider in the back is from the Dingo I robbed the frame rails from.....no plastic sliders on this rig. It will be all metal.

Started to, but just the rails weighed 8 oz......you were right, too heavy. I weighed the SCX10 rails and they are 5.7 oz. After a little bending and tweaking, plus a trip through my sand blaster, I think they'll work fine. At least I'm not using the stock skid :mrgreen:.

I'm noticing a trend with your builds Tim; the tow truck, short willy and now this 30's Ford. You like these early era trucks. Makes me wonder about the Bronco :ror:

Ha! Please don't put all this pressure on me.

Got the chassis sand blasted today and mounted the skid.

Started to assemble the axles with the long beef tubes and I'm not sure how I feel about them. It all just fits a little too loose for me and seems cobbled together. Luckily all the stuff I ordered for them fits on Wraith axles. Yep....thinking I might have to steal some axles off my Wraith this week :mrgreen:.
