Hey RC Car Action readers...

I think everyone bitches because I think everyone would like the situation get better, i.e. the print magazines reflect more of what's really going on (at least in the crawler and scale scenes). Also, I'm sure everyone is in agreement that its cool that the truck chosen was a custom built rig - no argument there.

Its just presented in a forum post format of various levels of douchebaggery. :ror:

Of course (stirs the pot) didn't PardonMyN00b win a couple months last year for his scratch-built Toyota FJ-55 and camper rigs? Richard does top-notch work! That Landcruiser was balls out awesome!

Well I know the builder of Readers ride of the year. He sent the pictures of his rig in you guys didn't. So he won haha he built it several years ago and it a very nice CUSTOM hand built jeep and it perform very well for being one of the shortest wheel based rigs I've seen. But I have seen people on here call it garbage , parts from a junk bin . The fact of the matter is if we gave him and anyone of you that want to call it garbage the same pile of parts . I would hands down put my money on him building a better looking and PERFORMING custom rig then your shelf queens. He runs his rigs and has several builds on RCC too. Everyone that put it down and is being a hater just because you didn't get off your ass and send in pictures of your rigs isn't right. this is a forum for scale crawler , crawlers to get ideas and share info alls I'm seeing is people being Butt hurt cause they didn't send in pictures of there builds:flipoff:

See here is my jeep on tlt's. Oh and the same guy built this too for mt c1 rig and it works very well ( sorry it don't have wraith axles or beef tubes and it's not a hilux f350 or tundra )

beauty is in the eye of the beholder i guess. generally speaking everyone here on RCC has higher standards of what a should be, simply because they know whats possible, whats been done and whats cool. Now from the audience of RCCA( general hobbyists) they may not now the ins and outs of scalers and therefore think its cool. I will say this though...Its not a freakin blinged out traxxas, so more power to him"thumbsup"

Well since I have sent in my pictures and have had them published in the nov issue I do have the right to speak and I have personally seen better looking custom scalers in rcca!!

I'm not saying I could of won because I just did it for the he'll of it. But in the same issue my truck was in they had a 5 page article about past readers rides of the year and that truck just don't stand up to the past selections!

Well I believe they put it out for a vote I know he almost sh*t when he found out he won. But he would never come on here and start a threac calling anyone's scaler a pile of gardage or knock any of you so doing that is childish. He is as very good builder and could build just as good if not better then most of the people taking shots at little joe. Which is a very well custom built true 1/10 willys flat fender. Anyone can bolt one a hilux ,f350,tundra or a proline lexan body on a scx10 chassis. Everything on Little Joe's besides the body is all hand made by him and done very well

Ya know, one way to get on peoples bad side is play the assumption game. Saying, "He is a very good builder and could build just as good if not better...". There are more than enough great builders and scale trucks here. Plus, it just looks petty and e-thug to say things like that. Stick up for your friend, showing his talents(like the orange jeep of yours). But don't put down other members without knowing.

If you really read what I said I directed what I said to those who where calling it garbag and parts from a junk bin. So what your saying that it's ok for them to talk crap about him and his build and have there opinion. But when I say I'd put my money on him building a better rig then them that's over the line:lmao:. Which is my opinion that's not ok I can't have an opinion.
You need to read my post and look at the ones I'm talking about before you go on witch hunt:flipoff:. It's ok for them to be keyboard DB. But when someone stands up for a friend OH BOY better not do that. If you can't stand up for a friend THEN YOUR NOT A REAL FRIEND now are you. I just can't believe someone is so pissed off that his rig made it in RCCA and there's didn't cause they didn't sent there pictures in ( A TOY TRUCK REALLY)

Hey for a bunch of badass builders you guys sure whine alot. If you want to win then submit your trucks. They would have alot better idea of what this hobby is about if they had some more choices to pull winners from. Typical pirate 4x fashion guys haha (which I was one of the first 2000 members to pick on people back in the 90's, just got tired of being a dick) You cant rag on the rag if you dont give them the choices. They arent going to go on a READERS ride search and solicit rigs. How do they know you read it. I like the mag, especially when they put out the Crawler special last year(or the year before I think) that had some scaler info in it. I got my jeep back in one piece and they are the cheap chinese landy knockoffs with reduced flatirons. If you look real close you can see they are cracked and broken. Heck one doesnt even have a hex anymore. They just look right on the rig if just sitting there. It normally runs proline 1.9 tsl's on scx 10 beadlocks with delrin custom rings. I built this rig 3 years ago as a team trail rig. It was based on what is now c1 class which in our early interpretation had to be under 10in wheelbase back when I built it. he tlt's are to keep it as narrow but as strong as possible. They have mip shafts, aluminum lockouts and all aluminum steering (kept my clocked c's for another build) on them so they work great. I have built quite a few scalers and this one gets the most attention out of them all. I think it works great for the old technology it has in it and people have loved it from the day I first built it even with mrc crap under it. Ive got alot nicer builds under my belt and a thick skin so bash on but dont bitch or rank on a mag you dont read or appreciate. Thank you mark, and justin for having my back, it is appreciated, and devlin I read this thread and it doesnt bother me. Im glad Lil Joe got in and won before these badasses took over the readers ride section haha. "thumbsup"Not bad for the second scaler I ever built and 2yrs ago huh? If you read the article you wouldve known that. Ok Im done, whine on, I have a new FREE Novak Havoc Pro esc and 4.5 brushless motor to install in my sc10 4x4. Thank you again Rc Car Action magazine for selecting me for the win!!! I appreciate it. "thumbsup"8)

Maybe I should tell you to read my post again. I know who that post was directed at, but, unless you know for a fact what those people have built, I wouldn't go around saying "better builder". Where did I say you can't have an opinion? Clearly I can't stop you from saying your opinion, just as you can't from people who disagree. You really thought my response to you was a "witch hunt"? Obviously I think it's great you're sticking up for your friend, that's why I mentioned it in my post. Just so were clear, I'm NOT attacking you in any way, just giving my "opinion" on attacking other members without knowing for sure, even if they talk bad first...

Thanks mark I appreciate you going to bat for me but this thread didnt bother me at all. We dont owe these guys an explanation or proof of my abilities. There are a bunch of guys here with one off builds and high-dollar rigs that could out build me hands down. I know my level of build-ability (is that a word haha) and as you know this isnt my highest quality build, but I didnt win just on build quality or highest price, newest available parts. I was told that my rig won for its originality and the fact that it isnt a shelf queen that doesnt get used. It is obvious in the article that I use the shit outta my rig and they liked that. My typical build is designed first for function and durability with heavy abusive and use in mind. There are double standards on every BIG TOUGH website out there like someone complaining that you cant make assumptions. This thread is one big assumption that anyone else wouldve won other than me, when that isnt what happened. It is also a big assumption that they can build better than me. Everyone has a different opinion about what is or isnt the best, so until they are running a big popular magazine, they are all guilty of making assumptions. I hope they all start sending in pics, it just might prompt the mag to start a new magazine aimed just at scalers and crawlers. Id definitely buy it. "thumbsup":)8) You know CRAWL magazine was started by members of my local 1:1 site, maybe we should try talking them into a mini CRAWL edition or see if they would want to start something. Im sure they could give people interested in starting a magazine the run-down on what it takes. I know it wasnt easy with a low-budget start-up. It certainly doesnt take millions to start one though. I would imagine print ads would sell from alot of vendors on this site alone. If it was a quick turn around rag that showcased very current very scaler and crawler specific releases of products we would all pick up a subscription.

that rag is a joke..the jeep's cool but deff not a rig of the year.

You forgot your thumbs!"thumbsup""thumbsup":ror:

Well it's pretty bad people get on a forum like this and the builders should be trying to influence more people in to the hobby. But the some want to be D-bags and rag on others build and accomplishments then will just drive people away. Just because they have an entitlement attitude they mags. should come search them out :flipoff:. NO they shouldn't it call (READERS RIDES) you send your own photo and if you don't then don't bitch when you don't win. I will tell you one thing if I didn't even know you and had to pick from Little Joe or some lexan bodied scx10 I would vote Little Joe all day long"thumbsup"

LITTLE JOE is the winner and is READERS RIDE OF THE YEAR "thumbsup":flipoff: hahaha:lmao:

I will say it again ( my opinion) anyone that would want to call little joe garbage I would put my money on WHEELINJP doing a better build then them:mrgreen:

Wow talk about trying to take the wind out of ones sail over a fun hobby because you don't like the magazine
or persons running the mag or writing the article is just juvenile. I am from Wa. and Sean is a good friend of mine and
I've crawled a lot with him since he started. You say look at his throw away motors, shitty electronics ets. and he would
agree since he runs his stuff on the average of 4 days a week up river bottoms, under waterfalls, thick northwest mud
and for you that haven't figured it out yet it rains a shit load up here. So hell yes it's all throw away electronics, hell I have
buckets of Tekins, Mamba's, novaks all spendy esc's that are fried do to running them in water etc.

I would read threads on here with great builds and advice from members such as Big Baller, dezfan, Eee Pee etc. and
will probably do so in the future without bashing them or the products they use. But the respect I once had for people I
didn't know is little lower now that they are showing their true colors, weather it be the mag, ride or builder it just wasn't
deserved as Sean has more passion for this hobby than all of you combined as you've proved here in this thread.
Great job Baller on a shit bashing thread, your the man and I hope your proud "thumbsup"....Rokpile
