What to do with these lithium bats?

I have and old Compaq lap top in the basement so I decided to remove the bat and see what it has. It said 14.8v 4400ahr li-ion. I dismantled the pack and found its a 2cell configuration in parallel yielding 4400mah capacity. Here's a link to the bat I'm looking at. http://www.molicel.com/ca/pdf/ICR18650H.pdf Its been my understanding that li-ion bats have a nominal voltage of 3.3v but all the specs on these are the same as a lipo with 3.7 nom and a 4.2 charged up. They seem like a cool bat so I'm thinking they would be good for everything except my main motor power. Servo/winch/led's etc. Not sure if there's any advantage to not using the BEC but if there is what the heck right. Not sure if this matters but thought it was cool also they were made in the Canadian plant.:)
 
i have a couple similar to those i use in a LED flashlight. dont know what else they could be used for.

As far as I know, Lithium-ion and Lithium-polymer batteries have the same nominal and max charge voltages. 3.7/4.2.

The LiFe batteries are set at 3.3 nominal - 3.6 max.

Im still learning. I thought ion was the same as life with voltage rating but these cell are different. I had a ion 18v pack go bad that was for my makita drill so I kept the good cells and recharged them to what googling the part#s came up with for replacement cells. There charged on the 3.3v life mode which would make sense if its charged to max 3.6 because that would be the 18v makita advertises with a 5cell 2 pack. Even the ion bat in all my cell phones are 3.3v so somethings different with the makeup of these ones.

LiFE is totally different......LiON & LiPO are very similar.
Nominal voltage is a lot different than charged voltage.


Most lead/acid batteries are 2.25VPC (volts per cell), this equals 13.5VDC when on "float" voltage...AKA fully charged.
A lead/acid battery open voltage (but decent charge) is ~12.7VDC. This would be considered "nominal voltage".
