USPS bans international lithium battery shipments

Not worried at all. I've never bought a battery from the USA. Always HK. No US customs to deal with at all. I get them fresher, faster and cheaper.

So the only way they can be shipped here is on a friggin ship? Isn't salt water used to render lipos inert?

Could be a good thing for us.

Now HK and China companies will have to stock more in US warehouse's since containers take about 2 weeks to ship.

Dont blame the ICAO though, its like flying bombs with out timers on them.

They've been on the prohibited list for a while now. My local PO has a poster on the wall showing things that you aren't supposed to ship and it clearly states electronics with lithium batteries.

Also, it looks like this ban applies to outgoing shipments, not incoming.

This doesn't apply UPS, FEDEX or DHL....so dealers will still get them like always.

It does apply to incoming USPS shipments though, all the post offices attempting to ship by USPS are supposed to post similar notices.

Later EddieO

does any body have any link to how many USPS trucks/planes have went up in flames due to lipo's bursting into flames from them miss handling our packages   :lmao: ..........bob

....

So, does this mean I need to answer truthfully now when they ask me "Is there anything dangerous, hazardous...blah, blah, blah"?
