GT3B Hack Question and Answer Thread

lokikid, you deserve some major props for what your doing here. It doesnt seem like your doing it to get rich (although i think you could). So, props.. its awesome.

Just two lame questions. If i flash my gt3b for 6 channels, will i have a very hard time figuring out how to use the transmitter? Or will it all be pretty simple to figure out on my own.

Also, i dont need a link. just a model or site that sells a compatible 6 channel receiver.

thanks. obviously im real new to this..

The basic functionality is the same, the hidden network of menu's is abit complicated at first, but fairly easy once you understand whats going on.

Post number two of this thread will answer your second question

Austin, thank you again for the last template.

I would like to learn to do this myself, I'm reading the manual-0.6.1.txt but so far it isn't sinking in.

My goal is to get CH4 to be a two position channel that is toggled when I press the Right Throttle Trim button.

I told the transmitter that I want the current model to have 4 channels.

- Model number of channels and Model reset
> choose menu NAME and press ENTER-long
> menu NAME will blink
> choose "C" for number of model channels or "r" for model reset
- reset will show NO/YES

Now I'm stuck!

If you have a moment, can you tell me what to do next?

Ok, well i think your getting hung up on choosing the th trim right button. What you need todo is select "2", then set its function to OFF, then go back into the key mapping menu and choose "2" with the right arrow lit up (its above the 3digit display), then use the " steps of setting of keys" area of the manual

Thanks. I will give it a shot after work.

Ok, I,m sure this is something simple, but I can't figure it out. My rear motor is about 20% faster than my front motor. I have gone through the templet several times and it still does it. What do I need to do to get them both centered so the pull the same at zero bias?

No, I have been having this problem for a while. I can advance the bias on the front motor 20% and they are turning at the same speed. I will check the timing, and recalibrate radio and esc.

hey, not to change the topic, but could you post a pic of where the antenna solders on. i opened it up a lil bit ago an spent about 10 minutes looking at the board. an cant tell where its supposed to be.

Sorry, Austin, I'm not getting anywhere.
I guess I need a step by step guide for two items...

First Item:
CH4 to be a two position channel that toggles when I push the END button.

Second Item:
CH5 to be a three position channel for winch control. Momentary control by pushing the left or right steering trim to make the winch wind in or out.

Thanks in advance,
Al

I believe the "end" button is only to close out programming & save it.
Likely it would be better to use a different button.

That suits me fine. Anything on the top panel would be great.

I hope I can get to the point where I can understand how to do these things for myself. Are you there yet, Charlie?
