Quick vent...

When I go we usually each blast off 100 12g shells at the clay area, 50 rds in the long guns and 50 rounds in the handguns. Anything less and it is a waste of my time to drive all the way to the range. Unfortunatly we cant just go blasting off wherever we want since I live in a dense suburban area.

I was in South Dakota a couple weeks ago and we went shooting and the range was just a big dirt field with 3 random berms and we just did whatever we wanted. That was fun! Around here most of the indoor ranges wont let you shoot more than once every 2 seconds so blasting away as fast as I wanted was awesome. There is one range here that will let you double tap with handguns.

Its called bait and switch..

you having more money or not is irrelevant they were trying to screw you.. Hell I would have walked out regardless of the amount of money in my pocket after explaining what I was told on the phone to the guy at the register..

This range also had the 2 second rule. But that's not a worry for me since the mosin is bolt action it takes longer than 2 seconds to chamber a new round.

What would be the point of that. It not like they are making money off of it. I mean I could see if the guy over the phone just wanted to be a dick.

Bottom line is, NEVER carry the exact amount of cash you plan to spend and not a penny more, and you won't run into such problems. You would have saved yourself a lot of stress and dissapointment if you had planned for the unknown.

Second, that range shouldn't even be in business with that attitude, and likely they won't be they treat many others like they did you.

You need to find a place with a reasonable yearly fee and be done with it. I can't imagine having to pay every time I go..

Business misinforms consumer and it falls back on consumer. Whats new there?

I get what youre saying OP, even though thats not what I wouldve spent my last $35 on.

#1 is spelling and punctuation. #2 is,if you can't afford the range fees, maybe you shouldn't be shooting.
I'm sure that if you talk as well as you type, that explains their customer service towards you.:flipoff::roll:

#1 we, are/ on? the, internet| nobody\ but: people; like" you' care* about! punctuation~. sorry for that it just bugs me when people have to always point out spelling and punctuation. not everyones perfect and good at spelling and punctuation. myself i have a learning disabilitie where english and writing were very hard to learn. just keep that in mind we dont come here to wright our life story and plan to publish it its just the internet. #2 i dont even think you read the whole post saying where he called ahead to make sure of the price. let me give you a example. what if you were buying a motor off a website and it told you $50 in the shopping cart but then after you put in your credit card info and pay for it the price jumps up to $75 and they tell you over a email sorry but the price jumped up right as you were paying for it.

first question? 35$? that does not seem much to budget yourself for a day at the range... if you are getting into the hobby of shooting firearms might want to budget a bit more than that or find a hobby that is slightly less expensive. and for 21$ for use of a range seems pretty fair. the local indoor here is about 50$ but you must have a group of 2 or more at 50$ per person. did you not have some change in your car? or an extra 5$ in your pocket? Im no millionaire but I cant remember the last time I had my "last 40$" in my pocket. Id say just keep level headed, sure you got lied to by the dude on the phone but you never know the situation. maybe the guy on the phone was new, didnt know policy, or maybe he was just being an ass. o, just found out today a mosin here in Canada is a Prohib... not sure as to why but it is. didnt know there was mosin pistols either. hmmmm, might get one for shiggles.

why in the hell would you go to a shooting range that would charge you $50 to go shoot for a day thats just a waist of money. i know i do live in the desert and can go anywhere out of the city limits i like but we also have a shooting range even tho its not indoors but its FREE. i went up to albuquerque, NM and it was only $10 to use the indoor shooting range and $5 extra for eye and ear pro and a target. i know not everyone can live in a small city where there is nothing else around but damn for those prices i would just rather keep my guns in my house just to look at.

I got about 60. With the mosin you get tired of shooting after about 20. It has a hell of a recoil

pu$$y.. i love the recoil mine has.. After a day of shooting mine( usually 30-50 rounds) im not sore.. but i can feel it.. Not to mentio the muzzle flash when the sun starts to go down..

I'm saying after about 20 you start to feel it. Before that it feels like nothing more than a 12 gauge to me. I went to the range with 58 rounds exactly and only have about 7 left over. I had decided not to use all my ammo. I like to keep at least a few rounds at home in case something happens and I need to use the gun at home.

Also keep in mind this was my first time shooting a mosin so I havent been able
To build up a tolerance to it yet

I have been sitting on this for a couple of months now. Its just to damn hot to go shooting, and the local indoor range said no when I asked if I could shoot it there.

In keeping with the spirit of this thread...

rub some mud on it and tell them it's a pistol.

$14 to $21 and you are ready to jump the guy? You don't need a rifle, you need anger management.

yes we know not everyone has 300 extra pounds of fat to cover up the recoil. the gun is very fun to shoot and my first day i went out i put at least 40 rounds through it just trying to find where it was hitting and some rabbit hunting too. the next 3 days i felt it. all that it needs is a rubber butt pad. they have one on amazon for like $12 new.
Amazon.com: M44 Mosin Nagant Rubber Recoil Butt Pad: Sports & Outdoors

says for the m44 but should be the same for the 91/30. someone say if different please.

Also keep in mind this was my first time shooting a mosin so I havent been able

A tolerance? I've been shooting for over 25 years. What is this tolerance you speak of? Unless you're smokin dope outta the thing...there IS no tolerance to recoil. It's there or it isn't. You can handle it or you can't.

I like to keep at least a few rounds at home in case something happens and I need to use the gun at home.

I'm NOT tryin to be a dick here kid but after reading your posts over the last few days...PLEASE do not keep ammo for ANY weapon in your house. I'm not sure what you expect to happen but I doubt you have the comprehension of life around you to decipher what does or does not warrant deadly force. It's guys like you that kill their own little brother for takin a leak at 2am...the mailman for knocking on their door...or their own reflection as they walk by the bathroom.

Please....PLEASE keep your rifle in the garage & ANY ammo at a friends house. Again...not talkin shit. Not jokin. Not lookin for laughs. I'm being DEADLY SERIOUS.

I think your getting the complete wrong impression of me. I've been shooting for almost 10 years. Not claiming u know more than you obviously. Im saying I've been around long enough to know how to be safe. You think I keep the ammo and rifle anywhere near each other? You also think I load my gun and walk to the door with it everytime someone knocks? I've been shooting with police officers who are just as safety anal as you and every other gun owner is. I'm the exact same way. I take every safety precaution possible with guns. Please don't lecture me about safety. I'm just as capable and responsible as you or any other gun owner.
