Another long term project finally making it's way out of the design lair. It's a short wheel based, 2WD, bodiless, super rugged, complete conversion kit for the Traxxas Slash/Stampede/Rustler/Bandit lineup.

Here are some pics and the first vid of it in action.

Round 3 Video - Bigger Air

Just thought I'd take a minute and share it here.

Looks like a bit of fun Boss. As have not owning, any of the buggies you mention, what's the advantages of this design? Looks cool though.

Thanks, I do still have a race chassis lined up for 2wd and 4wd slash's.

That looks like tons of fun Don! "thumbsup"

Thanks brother

Thanks buddy. The purpose of this conversion involved multiple criteria.

Looks - I wanted to ditch my body...cuz with a basher bodies get trashed quickly. That said, I went with a low slung buggy design. Panels can easily be added for some color, which I'll be adding to mine soon.

Durability - Bashers take a beating, especially when you have a need for speed and run a CC 4pole 4600/mamba max pro on 3s like myself. On top of that, jumping 10 or more feet high and landing flat (or who knows how poorly) is rough on chassis'. I've broken multiple Pede, Rustler, and Slash chassis' over the years. I've already punished my prototype way more than the others would have ever handled...and it is still in perfect working order with ZERO breaks or issues.

Agility - I like neck snapping agility in my go fast toys...so that was the main driving force behind the actual design. I shortened up the wheel base to give it on demand wheelie control, tight turning radius, and the ability to easily control pitch in the air with throttle for stunts. The trade off when designing was I assumed it would make it harder to drive/control and have pitch issues in the air...but I got a pleasant surprise when I first took it to the BMA park. It handles the rough stuff great; tracks very well in dirt, grass, concrete, etc; and jumps like an absolute beast. I took a ton of vid clips expecting to only land a small percantage for the video, but all I ended up with was a ton of usable footage because it is so point and go. Another plus was discovered while racing a buddies 4WD Slash in his back yard late last night. The front end doesn't act overly light, and it handles the track like a champ.

Here's the vid from the BMX track.

WHAT!? these are out, or you just a tester? I would love to test one out!

this is sick, would love to put a 3rd 2wd traxxas into my collection!"thumbsup"

cant wait to get one!

I'd like to see a stock rustler, bandit chassis length one and I'd get that fo sho

I've got like 5 stadium style vehicle coming to me that I have acquired, and I think this conversion will definitly be done to at least one or two of them!"thumbsup"

that is sweet! how long till the design gets stretched out to be SCB class leagal?

also, a thought, i don't know what kind of access you guys have to vacuum molding, but why not one piece of lexan for body work, instead of panels? just a thought. still, though, it looks really sharp!
