Does anyone have any ideas on how to make my exhaust sound louder and better? I have a 95 xcr 600 with stock exhaust. I wanna make it sounds better. Could I take a drill bit and drill holes it? Take out the baffles? I dont wanna buy a 300 dollor can, i just dont have that type of money. Thanks for your help everyone

its welded it

When I need to get something welded and I dont have a welder i take it to the Local High School and let the metal fab class weld it. Its free they just ask for a donation. I give them 50 for most things because I know it helps the class with some supplies. The problem with just drilling it is you cant undrill them. Just my .02

You're gonna need a stick to smack all the bitches off.. Bitches love shitty sounding exhaust..

About the only thing you can do to make a 600cc sound better is to drop a 1000cc in it.

There is nothing free that you can do to make it sound better.

Modding the stock exhaust will make it sound like absolute shit. On any engine.

I had a ducat monster that I gutted the cans. Sounded great but lost some torque. When all was said and done I still ended up buying a tuned exhaust system for performance.

On my Harley They drilled out the baffle the day I picked it up. The first time I started it I told them it was not acceptable and they did it then and there for $20. They had a drill bit that was about 3 feet long and that was that. Not the best, but much better than stock. Maybe you can do the same to yours.

Here's what I would do first..

Service it.
Add gas and oil.
Enjoy the ride (with a helmet on)

If I needed it to go any faster I would..

Find a baseline clutch setup for the type of riding you wanna do
Save pennies until I could afford proper pipes.
Maintain it.
Jet it.
Find out it's not fast enough.
Sell it.

Or I could skip all that and..

Buy a sweet flat bill energy drink hat with the money I saved
Run a straight pipe out of the side of the belly pan
Blow it up
Tow it home
Put a 440 in it
Tell everyone how fast it was
Try to sell it for half of my money back
Eventually told to get it hauled out of the parents back yard

I have a Flowmaster 40 series on my 04 Toyota Tacoma and I love it. It's a dual baffle rather than the usual 3 baffle. Got mine for $90

Replacing the stock headers and CAT will also increase noise, but the muffler is the cheaper option
