I had my right knee replaced about 6 years ago and my doctor now is looking to schedule the left knee replacement in January followed by hand surgery on both hands to relieve some of the arthritis problems ( this one scares me because of my guitar and keyboard playing ) and then he wants to have a couple herniated disks fused in my lumbar area. And I am still 6 months away from my 55th birthday.

Had a stroke and died twice at 19..
Right side of my body is made out of cortisone..
Coaching junior olympic table tennis at the age of 33..

Good news is I'll be able to retire in 50 years.

bad back, and my ankles are fawked. right one was broken 6 times and the left 8 times. never had them set. on the last break on the left one, i asked the doc to xray both of them. upon seeing the results, he came back with his jaw dropped. told me they need to be re-set and i would be in a wheel chair for the next 8 months. told him "meh, i'm good" walked out with a pair of crutches and some sort of air cast. that was prolly 10 years ago. safe to say, i do not run. except from the police.

Just had my left hip replaced in May... at age 35  Moral of the story? Don't get ran over by a car when your 17 :ror: My left knee will probably need replacing at some point, but after watching people in rehab with new knees, I'll think really hard before I actually do it. As for your hand surgery, that scares the hell outta me. I play and have fought carpal tunnel issues in both hands. Doc says surgery and I keep putting it off because I'm afraid I may not be able to play afterwards.

Broken left wrist 3 times right one 4, arthritis in both. Hands can't open all the way.each ankle twice.hips lock up and throb daily. Shattered 5 vertebrae in my lower back I'm an inch shorter than I used to be learned to walk again 6 concussions walk with an permanent limp and at the ripe age of 24 . but by God I was going pro on that dirt bike, and haven't even ride one in two years. And id do it all over again

I'm sitting in the hospital right now recovering from knee surgery this morning. I've always been really bowlegged and have had some knee pain for the last few years (I'm 43). I had an opening wedge tibial osteotomy. Basically they straightened my leg by sawing 3/4 through my tibia just below my knee, jacked it open, inserted a cadaver bone wedge to fill in the gap and screwed a plate over it all to hold things together. I had the right one done on October 12th and has the left one done today. It moves my knee in and repositions the contact points to the outside of my knee where there is virtually no wear. These are the only surgeries I've ever had, but it does feel that since I turned 40 things have been breaking down a bit faster than I'd like.

Left foot broken 3x,left hand 4x,left femure 1x,28 ribs ,jaw broke in 3 places at 1 time,a kidney stone about every six months for the last ten years (the golf ball sized stone in left kidney can stay there for all I care). The hospital time, lengthy, the hospital bills, expensive, the rehab and therapy painfull,ah but the memories......priceless.......I still ride horses and race motorcycles to this day.....senseless.....I don't move as quick as I used to,and I deffinately don't recover as quickly as I used to.My tolerance for pain has deffinately gone up.At 44 just today I wish I had listened to all those old heads when they said toil regret that when you get older, now I'm the old head telling the young bucks "you'll regret that",and just as I did they don't listen cause its to much fun.

Good luck with recovery "thumbsup"

10 Months ago at age 37 Herniated disc surgery. This cold winter is kicking my ASS

Broke my left hand 2x, my right hand 3x(gotta learn to throw a propper punch"lol, right wrist 1x, more rolled ankles than I care to think about.... now that I think about it im pretty clumbsy.. haha years of military hiking running climbing ect. Has paid its toll on my knees. Only 28 and still active duty... FML...

To those here that are truelly "falling apart"... I hope to never be on that level. But only time will tell..

I have polycystic ovarian syndrome and endometriosis...Had my first surgery at 12, was basically the same surgery as a c-section, but they took stuff out of my ovaries instead of my uterus. Second surgery at 15 for cysts again, discovered the endometriosis (inner lining of the uterus grows outside of the uterus and is a bitch), third surgery on winter break of nursing school in 08 (finished my last final thursday afternoon, surgery thursday night so i'd have the whole month to recover and be good to go when school started back up). Had to go on an education plan in high school for health issues because i missed so much due to chronic, intractable abdominal pain from the cysts and endo. Been on homronal therapy (birth control) since i was 12 to try to control it.

Had traumatic hearing loss and continuing issues from it when i was 15 because a bitch in marching band blasted a trombone directly into my ear.

Have a heart murmur with annoying palpitations that i flaked on getting checked out because im a terrible patient.

Am currently recovering from the second time breaking my right ankle and am facing surgery to fix it... (sprained both ankles many, many times, so the ligaments are all jacked)

And im 24, from what i hear it just gets better, right?? Someone tell me it gets better as i age!

Broken fingers, dislocated shoulder, popping knee....
Worst so far and only one I've seen a doc for:
Broken lower jaw in 2 places - spun the broken bone in my mouth and shattered the left side joint. Which of course ended with me spitting teeth out - a few which never got replaced but most won't know it till I crack a joke.
Wear your seat belt bis and girls!

And Amen to active duty not helping - I swear uncle Sam issues us an extra 10yrs of age when we join. 12 down 7 togo.
