New line from Horizon Hobby - Vaterra

^^ Nice find.. Every new thing I see about this buggy is impressing me. Vaterra really did their homework:twisted:

Based on the fact that this is not a r/c intended to be used with high RPM setups. I'm sure it has it's limits. It's a rock racer. I've never seen a 1:1 rock racer with a Bugatti motor in it. Have you?

How do you know this? Work for Horizon/Vaterra or?

I've seen rock racer buggies with Cadillac Northstar V8s, Corvette ZR1 motors etc., so yes that's pretty high power, lightweight and exotic enough, there's not room for V10, V12, or V16...let's be realistic. "thumbsup"

Im going to get one forsure,i,ve always wanted a summit cause of the 2 speed, but the price always frightened me off. This is perfect for what i want. Well done Vaterra/horizon.

And i dont think its too expencive for what you get, just hope its durable.

I can't think of a way to ask this without sounding like a total jackass so, BRAY!!!

The pic posted on page two, with the guy holding his finger over the price... Is that the wholesale price? Even though we can't see the whole thing, the first number is a 2. IOW: Is the $349 per-order price normal, or is demand driving it up?

$399 is the normal price. $349 was a discounted price the guy I ordered through gave me evidently.

I was just curious as to what ti would cost to piece together the front and rear drive systems.....about $160 total...and I am sure that does not include everything, so the MSRP looks like a really good real considering the DX3 is standard, yeah this rig will be on my Christmas list next year. can't wait to hear some talk from some hands on experience.

Summit does
Yeah, and we all crawl with summits.
We will have codes for Feb too "thumbsup" Free shipping is only US Lower 48 Sorry
Surely there has got to be a way to credit this discount for you 808 customers?

You can have a locked diff in the front. A locker inside the diff; when you remove the gears or diff internals and install a locking type of insert.
Again, locker or diff. When you install a locker, there is no diff.

Really? It says the trans is brushless ready. What makes it not intended for high RPM? Rock racer implies speed.

Will this rig be legal to run in scale comps and G6 events since it is pan based rather than tube chassis or rail chassis? I dig this rig and have the first one set aside at the LHS when they arrive. Just not sure how or what class this will find its way into.

According to SORRCA rules it's illegal for Class 2 because the inside of the tires are wider than the body at the "doors".....oh oh! And then there's also the lack of a chassis thing......
