JC Auto Design - SCX10 Rear Upper Link Risers - Improved geometry

just received my replacement upper links thanks a lot

I used the same process, but also bent mine at 30 degrees like suggested .. Haven't had the time to test them out yet.

Got my new "NYLON" V2's

Much thicker and more durable

Thanks for the Great Product "thumbsup"

Regards Rick

Thanks for the comparison photo. I hope everyone can see that the Nylon V2's are much stronger than the ABS version. Has anyone had a chance to put some of the Nylon V2's through the ringer yet?

Update:

I am running low on inventory for V3s, but I have plenty of V2 Nylon in stock. I can keep the nylon versions in stock much easier than the V3 since I make the Nylon version in house compared to having another company make the V3 for me, so the question is:

How many people would be interested in continuing the V3 version? Once I sell out of the inventory I have, I would need to have at least some interest for me to place another order.

I am highly considering discontinuing the V3 in favor of the V2 Nylon versions. Has anyone had any issues at all with the nylon version? I've yet to hear any.
I think they are holding up great, and are very easy to install. So, as long as the nylon are holding up to some decent abuse, I don't think we need the steel versions. Let me know what you guys think.

The nylon V2's have survived several hours of abuse without issue, they seem to be plenty durable.

I broke one last weekend and need to order a new set. I don't believe it was on your end. All me!! LOL My truck took a nasty tumble and landed hard on the side of the rear wheel and SNAP! I had a two piece riser. Can you PM me a link to order a new set of V2. Thanks.

Glad to hear it! Anyone else have success stories or horror stories with the V2 Nylon Version?

PM sent/replied, looks like you've got a V2 ABS, and the Nylon should hold up much better (although it sounds like the ABS version fared pretty well until then.)

Good evening everyone, just FYI, I have the RULR V2, that I purchased from supershafty, and they clear the MIP center driveshaft perfectly. I placed the buttonhead bolt toward the MIP shaft, and the nut on the outside, and there is more than enough clearance.

info from supershafty website..
SCX10 Rear upper link mount risers made for superstrong NYLON

These parts will allow you to raise up the chassis side rear upper link mounting points to give you better anti-squat characteristics (see below for a tech answer on why this is good...)

Weighs only 3 grams for the pair!
Improves performance on uphill climbs
Works with stock SCX10 Chassis and skid, no modifications at all necessary

Raises your mount up 15mm and back about 3mm, so it should be compatible with almost any existing setup. No need to change out your links!

The only modifications I recommend would be to drill the skid mounting hole where the upper link attaches to 1/8" or 3mm so that you can screw through that into the riser. This will require (2) 8mm M3 screws, not included.

Here's some more info on why this is a good thing for your rig:
With the raised COG and often vertical climbs these rigs encounter, the stock squat set-up actually makes it easier for the front suspension to unload and allow the vehicle to flip over backward. By simply changing the mounting point, this turns the geometry to an anti-squat set-up and when under power, the rotation of the axle actually raises the back end of the vehicle, providing a forward bias, helping you get up and over that steep climb.

Awesome to hear. I thought they cleared the MIPs, but it's nice to have confirmation that they will work.

How high does this raise the link above the stick location?

Just wanted to say thanks for making these. Ran some today with the V2 Nylon and had 0 issues. Didn't do tons of durability crashing on them but had noticeable more rear traction than before in steep climbs on my G6.
I am running your RULR V2 with DUUUUUUUUDE link mount and Gearhead shock relocation kit and almost ZERO torque twist with this combination. THANKS AGAIN.

Glad to hear these are working as intended!

Thanks for your support on my products!

Update/Bump

This weekend I went to a comp at Red Rocks to really put these and my other products through their paces. I posted this in my build thread about the RULRs:

I definitely noticed the extra performance the RULRs provided. On course 4, gate 2, everyone winched it, where as this rig climbed up pretty easily. Where other rigs were getting light in the front end on steep climbs, this rig kept planted and made the climbs. The other guys running my RULRs saw the same benefits and I got a few compliments on how the RULRs helped them make climbs they couldn't before.

I just got another batch of V2s made and they will be in stock ready to go this week.

I still have yet to hear of a Nylon V2 breaking. If you have done so, I'd love to see pics of the carnage. If these have survived a nasty fall, I'd love to see pics of what carnage they lasted through. Feel free to post them up here.

I just ordered a set of the Nylon version...going to do a comparisson video on some of the trails I have. Most of it is up hill...even have one spot I haven't been able to climb! Eager to test out the new geometry, with my driving there is always some rolls/tumbles/crashes!

IS IT AUGUST YET???

Got my nylon v2's Thursday...made great time across the country :-)

Took some time with installation only because my skid plate is aftermarket.

Drive shaft clears fine...tight squeeze getting in there though :-)

Gonna dye these myself though so as to have a conversation piece when wrenching on it with other RC'rs ;-)

Finally found the color I was looking for ;-)

Thanks again for sending them plain! This is gonna look cool, and a little more custom with a different color!
