Maybe this is all in the same realm as the word should;-) or technically or must. It's all how it's interpreted, our only goal is to have a level playing field and have fun playing with toy trucks.

I complain about rules as much as anyone. But the ultimate goal is to have fun. It's more than a toy truck to me. I put my heart into some of my builds. So little things sometimes are not so little you know.

Anyways I am looking forward to this coming scale seasin. I am certain it will be an awesome one!

So when I strap a battery to my hood an cover it with a cardboard hood scoop its chassis mounted because its covered by an accessory. I'm not complaining, I'm trying to see the SORCCA logic behind it being illegal, yet hiding a battery in the bed of a truck magically makes it legal and chassis mounted, please explain to me how that makes any sense at all. I'm just using your logic, battery hidden by a crate, magic legal. Battery hinged to frame via axle, illegal and I get my pp smacked for it.

It can't be attached to the axle, really you can't understand that. It doesn't mater if it's covered or not, if you put it on your hood great your hood isn't attached directly to your axle correct. unbolt it from the axle lock it out to the frame and ta da you have it its legal. Is it really that hard. :lmao: oh wait maybe it is

And this is not.

Axle mounted, stationary, does not move.

Hinged, moves with the suspension.

It is the same thing, whether it's strapped to it or solidly mounted, battery is mounted to the axle in both pics. Your the one who doesn't get it.

Because you can not use the axle for mounting the battery. No battery strapped to it or used as a place to mount to. No plates zip tied to the links or anything in that nature.

if the battery tray is screwed, velcroed, anything.. its mounted to the axle. i see a bar running from the tray to the axle on the ascender. its mounted. for whatever the reason, its not legal. if you wanna run that truck, just move the mount for the battery tray...

why the 5.4" tall tsl xl's are illegal in the 5.75 tire class baffles me too, but a rule is a rule and if i wanna play in their sand box, they say what the rules are

Wait what? The 5.4" tsl swampers are illegal? I know the xl is as it's 5.8 but never heard the original 2.2 was illegal

Manufacturer specs, 1.9 tsl xs's are tall enough for c1, but the manufacturer specs say otherwise. I just want to know the reasoning behind why its not legal in the first place, I didn't think I was asking a lot.

Sounds to me like he is saying the 2.2 xl's are only 5.4" tall.

i was talking about the advertised 5.8" tsl 2.2 xl, in reality they measure in 5 5/8" in as delivered with stupid big foams and after you swap in a real, actual useable foam you have maybe 5.4"... proline has lil' fella complex and exagerates their claimed size.

should be, yes, but advertised as 5.8, so no they arent. this pisses me off for many reasons. all prolines size specs are exagerrated, i say f*** them. if they cant give a real spec and it bans them then so be it, between that and their stupid bead design that doesnt work with 95% of the beadlocks on the market im over proline tires

Actually, looking at the pic, wouldn't that battery tray technically be mounted to the links, not the axle? Neither the battery tray nor the mount actually interface with the axle. Looks legal to me...

As stated many times before, SORRCA goes off of manufactures listed specs and not actual size. Reason is, for example if there are a 100 guys at a national event there is no time to check each trucks tires to see if they are in spec. But it is easier to check by the listed size on the side wall.
