Uh oh.

Donor bits courtesy of the Salvage Yard at RPP. Believe it or not, I didn't have a single SCX10 sitting around that I could build around.

Slightly borked Jerp JK Unlimited donor body will be the base for this transformation, just like the real thing. Not to worry, most of the broken bits are fixable or not needed.

How convenient of GCM to make these lovely wheels. With a good old fashioned Flat Iron, I've got the perfect wheel/tire combo to match the full size concept. Hooray.
Oh.

Good thing I bought a JK shell. I definitely needed most of it.
This is requiring a bit of head scratching. Knowing that the folks who made the real one started with a JKU and ended up with what they ended up with forces me to look at things a lot more than I usually would. Therefore, I spent many days on the hood, or bonnet, and getting the new length and curves just right to match the donor New Bright JK, who's dimensions are not exactly on the money with the real deal. It's close, but far enough away to give me some real thinking pains in the Gulliver.
Starting with the old hood,

I added some more length and extended the curve and created the angle that will dictate the slope of the new grille.

Also managed to start the iconic hump. Much more work to do here. Good thing I've got all the time in the world. Wait... This is for a build-off that's due December 1st? Oh lord.
