Saaweeeet!!!

As I watched that clip, I thought to myself, "self, that looks like a Benchmade..".. Lol..

Then I scrolled down.. It's the same as my BM32, posted above, but the bigger model.

Ppl say they are hard to flip, cause they are light weight.

Doesn't look too me, like he was having any problems! ;)

I own a 5"x1.25x.25" stone.. I've been carrying that for 6-7yrs..

I once had a clamp in style setup..
It clamped the blade in and had 5-6 slots on each side and 3-4 stones w/rods attached.
It was the "anyone can sharpen a knife" system..

But...... The Spyderco, Sharpmaker, is one of the most spoke about systems.
I actually have been thinking about getting one and watched a couple video's.
It's a mix between a "system" and hand sharpening..
Seems it would be "easier" then learning to sharpen by hand, with just a stone..
But still going to be a "learned" way to hand sharpening.

The other system is called, Wicked edge..
I haven't looked them up or watched a video yet tho..

I'll check it out tonight and give us my thoughts on it.. [emoji106]

Wow!!!! That's Ridiculous!

My vote was for the sharpmaker, after watching the video's on the wicked edge. Now seeing the price, it's WAY for the Spyderco Sharpmaker!

This is why.. For me, hand sharpening is the best tool you can carry!

I've been on the job/in the woods/out and about, more then once, and needed a quick edge freshening... Or someone else's..

I've used the side of landscape blocks, a rusty pipe or rusty spot on a tail gate or truck bed, shovel, smooth spot on a concrete slab(you know, the picture frame edge), sandstone/mountain stone/rock (out on the course), etc etc, etc..... ;)

Wicked edge is Not going to teach you that..

With the sharpmaker, your going to learn that skill..

There's nothing better then the smile on a guys face when you hand them there shaving sharp knife back to them. Specially off a rusty grab bar on a skid steer! Lol..

Being an electrician we use the ceramic type rods that are in large lamps like high pressure sodium to hone in a blade

After seeing all these beautiful blades, I'm kinda wanting another.
I love my Kershaw Blur's assisted action, lightweight feel and size... but maybe it's time for a gentleman's edc.

Know anything about the Spyderco Vallotton?

I'm personally not a big fan of having both the thumb studs and the spyder hole, for purely asthetic reasons on my park. Nice looking knife other wise though.

Today's choice, my 50/50 mini grip and my Foursevens frankenlight.

It's a sweet knife! Flashy, for sure..

I love my Spyderco's! I just don't think I see it as a "gentlemen's knife".. It's a little big for my thoughts of a gentlemen's knife.. Maybe that's just me?

I think for the money, there are lots of options.. Like a Sage 1 or 2(can't think of the exact model, my mind is picturing).. Gayle Bradley, and a couple other Spyderco..
Again, that's just a matter of a person's taste.
Can't go wrong with anything Spyderco!

Also, a Kershaw leek, is a nice slim line knife. With a great snap to it.

Agreed, on the hole and the stud..

Other then that... Your blade is on my list! ;) [emoji106]

I'm digging the spyderco techno or chubby. And if I catch a yojimbo at a good deal I'm swiping it up
