Axial rr10

I received mine as a warranty replacement of an older silver can 3100 Pro. Hasn't given me any reason to replace it.

From my measurements axial trophy truck score shocks will fit perfectly on the rr10 front and rear and will match the existing shocks.

I plan on changing them all out for matching ones or a set of prolines. I just like testing with parts bin items before i throw down $$$.

So I woke up this Sunday morning a beautiful day, made breakfast- eggs and some turkey bacon for the wife and my son......ah the smell of bacon. Some time passes and its time to sit down and watch some football and just relax. Hmm lets see what daily deals are on tower hobbies website shall we? And then it hits me, I have no willpower or patience left.....well tis the season to be jolly.......

Cheers,
Wade

What's the measurements for the battery box?

Venom 3s 5000mAh 35c just fits, have to pinch the hood to get the pins in.

Battery says 138x42x33mm. I measure it at 5"x1 5/8"x1 1/8". Could fit maybe another 1/8" long, it's maxed out height and depth.

I think you made a good choice. You probably spent $50 more than a kit will cost and got a decent tx/rx and a motor/esc that you can use in an SCX10. I'd upgrade some of the kit "upgrades" anyway.

The bomber is great. Miles ahead of my old scx10. I've spent equal amounts in upgrades so far :). But it's worth it. Just needs more speed and that's on its way.

Yes the tx is decent, my sons deadbolt came with one. I planned from the start to upgrade this, along with all my other axial products lol. I will most likely set the esc/motor aside as spares, since all my rigs have cc esc's and HH motors . What sold me, was the body lol

I picked one up from my local shop, yea pretty slow even on 3 cell, thats a easy fix thou, the radio is kinda confusing trying to get the 3rd channel to operate the lights or maybe a winch. other than that its a very cool lookin rig

I'm going to hold out for the kit. I've no use for lame RTR electronics and despise coarse thread bolts.

Call me a perv, but I just like putting my own machine thread bolts into virgin plastic, as opposed to screwing machine threads into already formed coarse thread holes.

Can anyone verify if bolts like knuckle to c-hub and c-hub to housing are still coarse thread on the RR10? If they've updated the hardware maybe my impatience would get the best of me.

Are all the rod end pivot balls still plastic?

I haven't disassembled the axles, but I have the disassembled the rig and to my surprise, the majority of the screws are machined from the factory now.

Glancing over the manual, it appears the only coarse thread screws are used in the cage and body assembly. All the ones that would be used for regular maintenance are machine screws.

I've decided the only reason I'm waiting for the kit is I love building these trucks. Makes throwing in the upgrades as I go a lot easier as well. If the kit happens to come with some useful upgrades like the heavy duty bevel gears, all the better. In my opinion upgrades like the trailing arm plates aren't worth squat.
I might have to end up buying stock panels though! Nothing wrong with that!

So you'd buy a kit then buy stock panels? You know you could get an RTR, take it apart, and reassemble it for the same price and get some "free" electronics.
