So what's with HPI?

I got this from Traxxas a few days ago and that's all I know.

HPI Building for Lease « Big Squid RC – News, Reviews, Videos, and More!

I give up. As far as I'm concerned, HPI is dead. They won't communicate with us. Their main distributor is out of stock on everything. Their social media is dead. None of the products they announced in the past 6 months have hit shelves. There hasn't been another peep about Maverick since the original announcement and now their main office building is for lease.

HPI is gone. Find another brand to support. Even if they are still around, this lack of communication with their fans and followers is not worth supporting anymore. It frustrates me beyond belief to see the company that I've supported for so long go down in flames. For them to stay this silent about it is just ridiculous.

HPI, make the announcement. Call it a day. Let us move on.

Yeah I really wish they would come out and say what is really going on. I have a club of about 8 guys an we all race HPI Blitzs. I can't really find too many spare parts now and our race season is kicking off... Ugh....

Well I can chime in a little bit since I have been going to their garage sales...yes the word around the warehouse is that they are at least moving from their foothill location, a stones throw away from Oakley, to another location yet to be determined....maybe no new location till the reorganization of names and divisions is settled.

The workers don't look like they are very confident that their jobs are secure, as I think that the owner is really keeping everybody in the dark. Really it makes sense to do that before you close your doors as to unload any excess inventory in the warehouse before you announce your demise, if not you'll never be able to sell brand new discontinued products with no further support. Makes perfect business sense, just not so cool for all the fanbois...I only own one old ass RS4 4wd street car from the mid 90's, so I am far from a HPI fan, but they were pretty innovative back in the day...

This thread is like an old lady sewing circle...........

ahaha :lmao:I guess we are all old crawlin ladies trying to figure out if hpi still wants to buy our knitting sticks to use for sleeve on their lower links for their crawler.

Somebody on URC posted up that they are now selling off all of their office furniture and equipt. and then another guy posted up that they're now selling behind a PepBoys and the rest could be going into the owners' storage space.

Doesn't give me much hope for the Venture FJ, unless the owner is shutting down HPI and using the revenue to fund Venture, which seems kind of a sleazy way to do business.

All I need is 34mm rear tires for my rs4 :(

I'm still waiting on a new Grave Robber body, got my VTA rolling stock a few weeks ago at least. We're still getting things trickling in from GP at the HTU I work for that is HPI, so I'm not sure if they're buying direct from HPI's Japanese division, or what's going on.

I guess the body posts that they shorted me in my builders kit may never arrive.
