Or forward, was hard for me to tell which direction it's too far from the pic. Either way mess around with those and it might fix the problemYou might be able to flip the posts that go into the shock hoops around or to opposite sides and it will place the body back another inch or 2

thanks everyone.
turns out I reversed the installation of the rear mounting bars.
as for the front mounting holes? which ones should I be using?
For the back shock hoops, the manual calls for the rear most holes. This will set your shocks vertical, so you'll have less flex. But since you already cut those holes, I'm thinking you should just fiddle around with it until the shell lines up with your wheels. Apart from a bit more flex, it doesn't really matter which ones you use.
You don't have alternative mounting locations for the front shock hoops.
what I mean is there is just 1 set of dimples for mounting holes on the roof but 2 sets of mounting dimples for the hood (front area) and I have no idea which ones to use
after adjusting the rear shock hoops, the rear mounting holes fit nicely over the chassis and rear bumper.
Use a little paint and dab it onto the top of your posts, then gently place your body in alignment to see where you need to drill.
I hope you've learned a very valuable lesson. ;-)

what about those who have installed it successfully mention which set of dimples they used? much simpler yes?
My body has only 1 set of dimples but I've never really went by them anyways. I've always mocked the body and reamed the holes before the paint.
