Mods are brown-nosing VP?

I respect companies that are innovative and create amazing designs....for the people that run the copies...it's their money, I just like to ensure I support companies pushing the limits and NOT feeding off of other peoples ideas and designs.

I think I know a bit.. The thing is this, and please do not lecture me on this.. I have been ordering stuff online since the 90s.. A few years back US companies or the government , I don't know, started to force us to spend crazy much on insured mail. Some years ago it was very cheap shipping from USA, then *bang* overnight prices went up. And it's ridiculous. Say, a cable or a led bar.. They weigh nothing. They can be sent in a normal envelope. I buy from Canada, it costs nothing or less than 5 dollars to Europe. From Australia, not much more. From China, maybe 5 dollars. From USA, maybe 30 dollars. US companies prefer to sell their products through rcmart.com in Hong Kong for this reason. Rcmart.com supplies Europe with American products, because your own postal services are too expensive. So, thanks to China, that you hate so much, Europeans can enjoy American products. So please stop bashing China.

Right but blame the right people.. American companies don't set the shipping prices, the shipping companies do.

I'm going to ConExpo/CONAG again. I always find it hilarious when the Chinese are walking around Caterpillar , Hitachi and Komatsu(among others) equipment taking hundreds of pictures while holding rulers for scale representation. The chinese have no shame about it either. Haha it's like they literally go and make total shit(well not always totally) replicas and schlep it as their own product for cheap and built by slave labor. Hey whatever. I'm just saying it's pretty blatant. I run a Caterpillar copy cat loader every now and then. It's a real pos. Cheng Gong. Hahaha. But it gets the job done some how. Wouldn't want a dozer or hoe though.

No shit. Right now, for me to ship something, 1 lb or less, UPS Ground inside Zone 2 is $7, my cost. That is a domestic, 1 day shipment with no insurance and that is my "floor". It doesn't get any cheaper than that for me. So, when I see you getting charged $30 for an international shipment, I know I couldn't touch that rate.

Don't just blame the Chinese, its an industry thing. Go to an auto show during the press days, before its open to the public. You'll see engineers from EVERY company - Mercedes, VW, Honda, Toyota, Hyundai, Kia, Chevy, etc... spending a ton of time measuring every detail and taking photos of just announced competitor cars.

Every company does it, if they didn't, then they are terrible at their job. Otherwise, how do you make your products better without measuring up to the competition?

As for Chinese knock-off products, its your money, do as you will with it, whether you give it to VP or a knock-off company. However, don't bitch and whine when nobody wants to release new aftermarket products for what you want, because they got tired of spending the R&D money and not selling enough because people are happy with the Chinese knock-offs.

Greddy went bankrupt because of this.

The boys in brown are Teamster and get pay and bennies, even here in FL, Now add those wages to equipment I understand why $$$$.
What I will NEVER understand how RPP ships first class to South Florida in 3 days dirt cheap, but for tower I have to pay priority shipping extra(3or5$) to get it in the same time ......Only these two are solid and consistent ship time wise

USPS can be a pretty good deal if you are under 12x12x12 dimensions and inside a reasonable weight. If I recall, I shipped an 8x8x4 box that was 4-ish lbs from NH to WA for about $12-13 and it got there in 3 days.

What is funny is that FedEx is not union, but their rates are pretty close to UPS. I used to really like FedEx until they bought RPS and turned it into the FedEx Ground division. FedEx Ground has left me underwhelmed.

Fed ex ground (RPS) was employee owned, now is sorta the same, but competes with the corporate FedX.... look at the drivers door plate, that tells you who owns and operates

ConExpo, haven't had the chance to go yet but my salesman tell me it's a real good time.

Cat quality is hard to beat. Spend a few minutes in the cabs of each mfg and quickly realize the Cat is nicer and made to be worked.

I'm guessing it has to do with how long it takes to put it in a box. I'm not kidding when I say I've had tower orders get hung up for days, cancelled them. Then reordered and they ship the same day.

It's a volume thing I'm sure. RPP almost makes it a point to have your order packed as soon as you hit the buy button. They know that's their angle and a lot of us go to them because of it.

Generally big stuff that I know there isn't a markup on, I use my coupons and go to tower. My parts and specialty stuff, almost always go to RPP.

I paid for every year before I was a mod.
And believe me, that 5 cents a day paycheck I get is questionably worth it. Realize how many mods are on the staff, yet never come here?

Cough or the ones that come here and don't do anything.

If a couple of hours a week is enough then I'll sign up.

A free set of curries wouldn't hurt. Never gonna buy a set they be too expensive.

and its sad they did..

Yes, I agree. I don't mean to blame the shops or producers as such. But amain.com offers economy shipping to Europe and they are based in California, so if they can make it.. Why not others too?
