OK... There isn't oil under everything. Preserved open spaces are good for a lot of reasons. We're already producing more oil than we really need to domestically. It's a part of the reason gas has been so cheap the last 3 years. Domestic producers are actually shutting down production to raise prices again recently.

US crude production has been cut back due to the middle east flooding the market with cheap crude in an attempt to hurt the US and Russia. US companies can't produce oil and turn a profit with oil under $50 a barrel and shale oil isn't profitable until about $60 a barrel.

Russia is getting hit harder than we are because their economy is based off of oil and not much else.

So...apparently Posesta's email password was....password.

Sometimes the K.I.S.S. method works, sometimes it doesn't. :ror:

Earlier today I had the sudden realization that I have spent the last 8 years listening to the far right crowd make up stories to aid in their whining about Obama, and that now I'll be spending at least the next 4 listening to the far left crowd do the exact same thing about Trump. It's one bitch of a script flip.

Did you forget about the last 16 years when everything was W's fault?

Well, at least you'll get some great laughs out of it. Speaking of which....the latest celebrity plea video, to Congress this time, is pretty funny.

or is it just tv stars and actors? cause they only know how to do one thing. act.

at least some good bands know how to put on a show, and be real.

There are some celebrities that do work hard at trying to make the world a better place or can actually speak from a position of authority or experience, but they typically aren't the ones running around making a show of it.

Do I care what the average famous person thinks about something? Not really.

Do you even know what he has done in the last few weeks by executive order? Unless you're against national parks .

Yeah I am absolutely against National Parks went they take private or state land from its owner to create.

The federal government has no legal right to own land, yet they are the largest land owner in the west. Go figure.

I don't agree with the government taking land from private owners, but National Parks account for less than 4% of the United States. Hardly a number worth getting your boxers in a bunch for.

The feds own 28% of all land in the US, 52% of the land in the 12 western states.

You want to try that again?

The Federal Government realistically owns every square meter of this country. Its called the right of eminent domain: 5th amendment: and it includes but not limited to the air, the water and the land. But more specifically to your statement:

Its in the constitution, and called the Property Clause. And the federal government can own land.
"The congress shall have the power to dispose of and make all needful rules and regulations respecting the territory or other property belonging to the United States".

Addendum Comments:
FYI, straight from facts, the federal government owns roughly 30% of the land in the US. A portion of that is military bases and targeting ranges, some is in the form of nuclear institutions, for example, INL consisting of 890 square miles in central Idaho, and there are many others.

But most of the federally owned land is in the form of Forest Service Lands and BLM lands, which as an avid hunter, hiker, dirt bike rider, and not least a TOY TRUCK DRIVER I greatly appreciate being able to use at my liesure with little to no restrictions, FOR FREE! Making a point here, with no federal lands we would have to ASK PERMISSION OR PAY every land owner to utilize that sweet crawling spot, or the epic mountain bike trail or the sweetest dirt bike forest service road, or "insert your interest here"............ And how many of these private land owners are going to say yes when you ask to tromp on their property with your toy truck, or dirtbike, or mountian bike etc?

Not a personal assault, but nothing wrong with the factual truth, right?

Peace

A lot of that land is managed by the BLM that will lease it to farmers and cattle ranchers so that we can have food to eat.

Try using the desert in Kaliforina. They pay people to do nothing but hand out tickets for not paying the fee to use the public land.

Yeah, the state charges a fee to hunt, or licensing of my dirt bike, or whatever. We don't have any daily usage fees for federal public lands here, but we do for state land like a State Park etc. Is that desert BLM, or state land......out of curiosity.

So, declassified report on hacking was released. Listening a bit on it, it seemd to be ineffective. The report, which I plan to at least skim over-25 pages..., said the thy felt it failed & intended to hold the info for later use. It sounds like it also wasn't a malicious attempt. It said he was mad over the doping at the Olympics & something Hillary did(or said, can't recall) as Sec. of State in '11 or '12. That sounds like a spoiled brat trying to get even for something that he didn't like.

Looking at her campaign, she definitely didn't need any help screwing everything up. Her miserable demeanor. Her failed celebrity endorsements. Her lack of public appearances. Her crappy handling of an email account...

As an aside, I heard & read about Obama sending something like 500K to Israel PM Netanyahu's opponent in an attempt to oust him. Isn't that essentially the same thing? Outside influence of an election.

If only she could have clinched Chachi.

Nope. The State Department assisted a US based non-profit group that is working towards a two-state solution between Israel and Palestine. A couple hundred k went to the group working in Israel, and a bit less went to the group working in Palestine.

Netanyahu doesn't want a two-state solution, so I suppose you could spin that as an attempt to boot him, but that wasn't the intent.

Obama just signed a $38b aid deal with Netanyahu a few months ago. If he were really out to get him, he wouldn't be throwing cash at him.
