Ascender With Overdrive Mod

Until now I never ran class 2, I built this rig specifically for it so I could go to a regional event. This was the shakedown run and kind of thrown together with left overs from years of being in the hobby.
I went first, only took two reverse penalties per course and won the event with a -96!
The turning radius is almost crazy now and completely seamless shifts kept people wondering.
The mod is super simple to do and I'm still running plastic gears. My metal set came in too late to install but I will have them in shortly.

If anyone is hesitating to do this, don't. You won't regret it.

To add, I run stock shocks, and all plastic housings with unweighted wheels. Nothing over the top otherwise.

That's awesome...I wouldn't see why plastic gears wouldn't hold up just as long your not running crazy power and not putting it in a huge bind with slipper tightened down. Add some KLRs with some weight and she'll do even better.

I just found this today. Looks awesome. I hope this kit is still available. I sent a email today. How did you work out payment? I'm getting ready to do a new build soon. This setup will give me a ton of options for axles. Does anyone know if I can change the transmission input shaft? I would like to use this setup as a transfer case with a front motor.

I tried to contact him a few months back and no dice. Is this something that can be made with hardware and some shop tools?

Shoot me a pm, I may have a spare kit

Hmmm, he's been good source of rc parts that are unavailable anywhere else and has great assortment of hardbody kits for crawlers too. His machine work is topnotch too. "thumbsup"

Android, pm to you too. :)
Thanks, mate!
Unfortunately Giuseppe doesn't offer these kits anymore!
Any ideas on the solution?
The best I have is to source the gearbox from the new Element Sendero - AFAIK it has the overdrive in the gearbox, not the axles with different pinion/spool gear pairs... ?

Why would I need a vendor star?

RCCrawler Forums - Forum Rules

Vendors
In order to sell your goods on this site you must become a supporting vendor.
RCC will not allow anyone without a vendor star to create "feeler" threads to gauge interest on the product you are thinking about selling.
Feeler threads will be deleted without notice. If you continue to create them you will be warned or given an infraction, then banned, not necessarily in that order.
Please try to support the RCC vendors whenever you can as they are doing the hobby a great service to bring you the best crawler specific parts available.
There are lots of vendors in the Vendors Market section, search around in there.
Vendors can post up product announcements with the technical details of the product in the relevant tech specific forum. Giveaway threads should be treated as a product announcement thread to promote and advertise your product. Please keep the pricing and availability out of these "tech" threads & forums.
The Vendors Marketplace and individual vendor forums are for vendors to post their product "sales" threads that include price and availability of the product/'s. These threads typically turn into members asking when the item is available, posting up that they placed an order, the delivery speed of their order and possibly any questions on issues with the product. These type of threads do not add any technical value to our tech specific forums so we ask to keep them in the vendor forums.

Classifieds are for selling on a non production level - you have a single item and want to sell it for example.
