New Crawler/ Rock Racer for under $200

Ok, I will return this car and get either:
Wraith.
Bomber.
Yeti Jr.
The new Redcat coming out in July.
I might get the kit as long as all the parts are available on Amazon.

I just have to wait for them to be available on Amazon.

There are wraith spawns on amazon. But they are 200 more than from anywhere else. So I dont recommend that.
But I do see a twin hammers for 275. No electronics

I've never owned a veterra but they are also hobby grade.
There's also a yeti kit for 329

And you can get some cheap electronics to get started for another 100-120 probably.

Last time I'll post on this thread,
I'm in agreement with others on here about the WLToys K949 Twinhammers knockoff. I would have sold you my used real V2 Vaterra Twinhammers for a good price if I hadn't already sold it. I liked the rig but just didn't' have much need for it as I already have a crawler and a bunch of other go fast trucks. For the price of the K949 at $189 your getting a lot of rc.

They are almost the same truck with very different price ranges. Real Twinhammers is on the left.

Lots of upgrades that work exactly from the Vaterra..

Those beautiful trailing arms are only 11 bucks from Aliexpress.

The problem is that the k949 has proprietary electronics, so if i cannot get used to the wheel transmitter, it will be hard to replace.

Thanks for your help!!!

The problem a lot of the Axial vehicles are out of stock at the factory, therefore, they are out of stock on Amazon too, I will have to wait until July or August.

Now that I have decided to spend more and get an Axial car, they are out of stock on Amazon. :-(

Forget about amazon dude!!! They are more expensive then anywhere else. Order it from somewhere else and be happy that you saved money

Amazon Prime is fast and a lot of things you can get the very next day without a premium ship charge, but these types of things very rarely they have at your local warehouse. Thats the only reason I ever buy from amazon and its never my hobby stuff, usually clothes or computer and household stuff.

Just looked up the axial wraith spawn. Amazon wants 615 for it and tower hobbies want 369 for it. I would say screw amazon and save the 200 bucks for upgrades but that's up to you. Everyone one this forum has tried to help you out so take our advice and save money or wait til there in stock on amazon and waste 200 more dollars. Up to you. I'm done with this thread

Same here bud. If I order something off of amazon it something that is not need in a hurry cause I don't have prime and I'm not paying there shipping charges so I go for the free long wait shipping lol

I have Amazon prime, so it is fast for me.

Hey, I just tried my Feiyue car I got off Amazon and it is great but I am already having problems finding a longer lasting battery for it, I am starting to see why I should buy more standard stuff now lol. It surely beats all of the toy cars i have had, it can jump, it can crawl, it is fast, this is the first car I have that is faster than me running.

But see, that is the beauty of Amazon, I can just return it without too much hassle. The Axial cars were available for a good price on Amazon a few weeks out, they are just out of stock right now.

Ok, the Feiyue car broke, wheels would not turn going forward and going backward, it just goes zigzagging and not on a straight path. I am returning it

Upon inspection, I think the servo horn totally smooth and the servo too, so there is a piece missing since there is no grip between the two or maybe they just worn off.

Is it what is called a servo stripped? would a servo saver protect from this?

I guess it would not take all that sidewalk and rock crawling at 35 kmh (25mph).

Thanks.

Ok, after this horrible experience, I have decided to buy a good car. Which one is a better multipurpose car regarless of the price, meaning good for bashing, off road, racing, jumping and of course crawling?

I have some options:

Twin hammers.
Traxxas Summit.
Traxxas Stampede.
Axial Wraith.
Axial Bomber.
Axial Yeti.
Ano other?

Your answer is likely to be in the previous 5 pages of this thread...

Here's a thought! How about trying the search function for something different, and search the entire forum and come to you're own conclusions?

You keep asking for advice, but then don't take any that is given...

I'd say the Axial Bomber kit with appropriate electronics. That being said, it will be very expensive to make a car that can do all the things you want and it probably won't excel in any one area. It will also take a fair amount of research and effort to do it right.

It would probably be cheaper and definitely easier to buy one car for bashing/racing and another for trailing/crawling. I was looking at the same decision last year and ended up with a ECX Torment to bash with and a Redcat Everest 10 to crawl/trail with. It was less than $300 for both of them new.

This is exactly what I did. Bought a used brushless traxxas rustler for a smoking deal $60. Got a new battery and new charger and I'm into it $120. Going to buy a Everest 10 in a month (which you can buy on Amazon)when I get my bonus from work and make a couple upgrades and have both. If I want to go fast the rustler if I want to crawl through the woods/trails the everest.....doesn't make sense to try to build something to do everything. You'll have an expensive car that's not great at anything.

I am more of a driveway crawler and basher, I just crawl over sidewalks, dense grass and tree roots, I will just go with the Axial Wraith when it becomes available but could it resist jumping?

It can jump but remember once you start jumping that's when stuff starts breaking

Thats what I did with my Feiyue and thats why it broke i think.

So, is there any car that can take good jumps and do a nit of crawling?

Not without spending way more money. Take these peoples advice. They do have some experience. I think you should buy a summit. For the crawling it sounds like you want to do. But it won't be the best. And it certainly won't be the fastest but it will jump and parts are readily available. If you like crawling you will end up getting something more appropriate and you could always make the summit brush less if you decide you just want to bash. But I dont think the small summit has lockable diff's. Just the 1/10. This is my last reply. Only you know what you really want. So go buy it. And lose the dream of spending 200$
