It worked!
I called a friend and we finished at 3am...
There is some visible paint bleed on the white but for my first ever paint job, it should be enough.
The rest of the fast panels (fenders, rock sliders, number plates) are just solid red, i don't have a picture since they are already wrapped for transport.
The interior is black underneath and airbrushed white and "dirty" on the drivers. Still a work in progress.
Big step forward at last!

Also I noticed you put the brass vanquish pivot balls in the stock trailing arm ends. How do they fit? I have a few bags of those pivot balls and hope they will fit in the stock Axial rod ends.

Finally have all i need for the lights up front and on the axle.
I finished the EXO radiator and light bar and should be able to install it tonight.
I also pretty much finished the interior minus the heads since i having a friend airbrush some nice resin heads i found on Etsy from Headhunter studios.
I will have LOTS of pictures this week-end.

Ok he're the big update i promised. I'm going to backtrack a little bit since it's been confusing jumping from the cage to lights to paint without much chronology.
So first thing is the cage, boring but i wanted to give everyone else a big advice. GET A POWER DRIVER, there is so many screws it's hard on the wrists...
Next up some scale detailing on the radiator and the cage. I'm using the DMG radiator mount for the EXO radiator.
Now the EXO light bar with the HeyOK light controller (brake lights and U4 safety lights). Required a bit of trimming, LOTS of glue and 2 screws to mount underneath the roof. It's NEVER coming apart...
Everything bolted up with relative ease but it's really annoying to keep having to dismantle the cage to work on anything.
While i'm still waiting on my metal spacers kit from KNK, i tried to mount the OnetoomanyRC light bar in a temporary state to get the look right.
i found a little plastic spacer in my Yeti Jr spare parts that fits perfectly into the cage bolt hole and is the perfect lenght for the OnetoomanyRC light bar ! :shock:
I kept the best for last, my little scale work on the interior !
I'm waiting for heads to be painted but i pretty much finished the rest. I used a red shoelace, a washer and LOTS of glue to make custom seatbelts.
Surprisingly, i had to visit at least 6 local stores to find the shoelaces... Red is not popular i guess.

I will be working on the front lights this weekend. I really need to figure out the wiring mess. I have at least 3 feet of cables between the 2 headlights, the axle rock lights and the lightbar. I might visit my LHS and have them shorten them as much as possible.

That's really coming along nicely, my man... Great detail touches. Guess I need to get a power driver myself before starting on mine - the parts are getting dusty from sitting on the coffee table for 18 months!
Gave myself some options to work with. I was getting really tired of compromises and half-ass solutions for screws.
It should go well with the team knk bag of spacers.
It's so cheap on hobbyking, any new guys like me should buy a load of screws. It's really a blessing when you don't have leftovers from many other trucks.

Looks good! You mentioned earlier that you thought there may be too many pictures in your thread? You can never have too many pictures in a build thread. I really enjoy reading and looking through these.
Where did those driver heads come from? Those are cool!
Update time !
Another huge step forward this week with the front of the Bomber.
First up is the headlights. After my first failure using the OnetoomanyRC pod lights, i bought another set of lights from him with a different style. Its a round light with a top mounted screw made from aluminium with a perfect match to my color shceme : Red, white and silver ! "thumbsup"
It kept swiveling around so i put locktite AND shoegoo on the top mount. Nothing short of a direct hit at speed will move it now.
It's a very difficult areea to work on but i was able to put a screw through the front shock position and then put the light bracket in there secured with a nylock nut. It can still pivot along the bracket but i will put shoegoo in there if it's too annoying.
I have to route the cable into the Fast Panels inner fenders so they have to be mounted at the same time.
It's pretty tight for the shock cap but hopefully it works out ok.
Next up the DMG all metal bumber. They advertize it as being the last bumper you ever need. I like the look and it adds a nice weight on the nose of the Bomber to help crawling.
Next up will be the Vanquish Anti-rock rear sway bar.
I'm also waiting on the KNK spacers to put the rock lights on the front axle and the repaired Holmes SHV500v2 (stuck at Canada Border Customs :evil
to finish the electronics.
After i find a way to route, tie-wrap and hide the insane amount of wires, i will be able to finally bolt the cage and run this thing...

It's been a good week for free time so i made progress last night again.
I had the pleasure to install the Vanquish Currie Antirock v2 sway bar set... Wow, it's a shame to make such a great product and have NOT A SINGLE PIECE OF INSTRUCTIONS with it...
The only videos i found on youtube were for the v1 so i kept trying to put the damn bushing into the hole with the set screw.
After finally figuring it out, it's pretty cool and easy to install.
I stole an idea on this forum and got a pair of 3Racing Titanium M3 turnbuckles to replace the stupidly long and big M4 links on the Currie antirock.
If they end up too short, i have longer M3 rod ends so i should have plenty of options.
As seen on these pictures, the big side of the brass bushing goes to the aluminium bar and the small side plugs into the stock axial sway bar holder.
On the Antirock v1, there was a smaller extension of the brass bushing going INTO the hole where you have the set screw. This is the image you will get on google even if you type Antirock v2...
I also ran a few tests for the lights since i was bored and can't do much until the servo comes in.

My wife dosen't want RC stuff all over the living room and i don't have a garage

The holmes Hobbies shv500v2 servo is back from replacement.
I will be able to close the receiver box and finish the wiring nightmare...
I don't know if it's intentional or not but Holmes included 2 logo stickers with the servo and they are RED!
I've only seen black on the forums and from my previous order.
Hopefully the red on red looks nice when i decide to put them on.

The reds have been around... i'v got a bunch - I ordered extra stickers when I ordered my motor(s) and servo from them some time ago.

I think usually the "included with the product" ones are black & white, that's why the reds are not seen as often.

I just tried to buy more stickers and got reminded why Canada sucks...

Little update this weekend.
I was able to work on the front rock lights using the OnetoomanyRC 1" pods.
I installed them on the front slot of the shock mounts but i'm not 100% satisfied... On one side it's fine but on the other they hit on the steering link rod and i can't aim them at the ground properly.
So for the moment they will be aiming a bit too high for rock lights but i ordered a set of Hot racing link/shock mounts to try and fix it. They have an extra hole a little further back which ''should'' let me aim the lights towards the ground before hitting the steering link.
Now i requested help from my Local Store to sort out the wiring mess before i can close the cage.
Most cables are way too long and there is about 7 or 8 connectors to unplug if i want to remove the cage which is a pain in the ass.
They will shorten the wires and try to regroup the plugs into 2 or 3 max.
You can also see in the last picture how close the rock light is to the steering link.
