So I've got an old scx10 laying around that I've got a soft spot for so I decided to treat it to a something nice.

Beef tubes, XR knuckles, chubs and axle shafts.

Also throwing on an SSD CMS kit.

Yeah yeah, I know. They're not aluminum knuckles and chubs but I figured I'd try plastic and see how long they last first. I don't comp and I'm not super hardcore about modding/upgrading. If they end up breaking quickly, I'll proceed from there.

Stay tuned, maybe I'll throw some build pics on for the newbs.

Subbed, looking forward to it. Not seen a SCX10 build for a while. Good luck [emoji106]

I wrenched on my scx10 this weekend and successfully installed the xr mod and chassis mounted servo kit. Installation went fairly well, couple hiccups here and there but nothing too big. The biggest obstacle was finding tools, I was at my parents house visiting over the weekend and the tool selection is really limited there. But through all that, it's together and it works!

First things first, I stripped the front end down.

Pulled the axle apart to be pleasantly surprised by a lack of rust. And the gears aren't worn out either!
Sorry about the blurry pic, didn't notice it until after i was done.

Beef tubes installed. I must not have snapped a pic of the actual assembly. Notice I had to cut of the ends of the original axle houseing because it gets replaced by the splined end of the beef tube. I also had to locate and drill 4 holes in the housing to hold the beef tubes in place.

Here is a pic of the section that gets removed.

Universals are all coated in grease and ready to install. I chose to got with the axles that beeftube already has cut because they're only a couple dollars more and why not save myself the effort.

C-hubs installed. Note in second pic that chubs must be clocked all the way back looking from the front. (1 of my many oopsies)

Knuckles and bearings next. I reused the chub pivot bushings.

Assembled axle. Minus the tie rod but we'll get to that.

Axle mounted in truck. Original tie rod length is way off. I'm going to make a new one but the old one with some washers will have to do for now.

Now on to the chassis mount for the servo. I didn't take a ton of pics of this mainly because it was late and i was tired. And lets face it, I'm a total newb at this build thread stuff. And the building...

One super imporatant thing to mention is if you're using the stock radio box, you have to remove the lower brace on the right side for the new link to clear.

Well, that's all folks. Sorry if I'm a little hard to follow. First swing at this so don't beat me to hard.

I suppose i could go over what else this turd has had done to it.

RC4WD steel bumper with RC4WD winch and wireless controller.
SSD Chassis mounted steering.
XR mod.
OD/UD ring and pinions and steel gears in the tranny.
Aluminum rear bumper that I cut in my mill to match the dovetail of the body.
Aluminum links and shock hoops.
Savox servo.

I think that's everything. Thanks for taking a look at one of my rigs.
