Servo mounting question

I just decided to do an overhaul on my losi nightcrawler, the first thing i did was switch out my servo with a spare servox 1230. Everyones been saying dont go cheap or small (500 in/oz at 6v). My concern is when i turn the wheels the servo, the mount brackets and the servo plate all shift pretty significantly. The whole mounting assembly is screwed into the axle should i be worried about breaking something? Ill have aluminum servo mounting gear here tomorrow, but now im thinking that all that movement from stiffening the mount will going to go right into the axle and it’s eventually going to break.

Any thoughts, is movement like this normal?

Is everything tight ? On the servo mount they willloosen themselves over time or with all the torque

I just double checked everything, all the screws are snug, but now the torque goes right down into the axle and twists it, its seems the friction from the tires being on the ground provides enough resistance to reflect some tourque back.

You would want to reset your servo end points after installing the new servo. When I put the Savox 1210 in my smt10 and turn it at full lock it would twist the servo mount pretty good. I just dial back the servo end points to just before it would do that. What happens is the tires will only turn so sharp, once the knuckles hit their stopping point the torque of the servo has to go somewhere so it reflects back to where the servo is mounted.

Likely this is the problem. Any time a servo is swapped out you really should reset and check everything. Also check your throw from the servo arm perhaps shorten it up a bit
