Hey guys, a lot of people have been using the rc4wd 1.0” bead locks on these rigs and they look great. Question I have has anyone come up with the proper sized socket or nut driver to put those wheels nuts back on after mounting those beadlocks ? Seem to be having some trouble with this. Any help would be great.

Also what size are the little screws ? Thanks!

4mm? For the scx24? It’s a 2mm isn’t it?

Wheel beadlock screw size :4mm is the length of the screw. M1.6 is the size. M1.5 drivers work if your careful.

Wheel - axle size: 4mm wrench required.

You need the special RC4WD 4mm Wrench. If you bought the wheels from RC4WD and they didn't give you the wrench email them and tell them and they will send it to you for free.

Also the screws are M1.6x4mm.

I bought two sets of wheels from Rc4wd and didn't get a wrench 🔧;(((Are you sure you tool should come in package with rims?I spend countless minutes using different micro tools to get job done.

I never received the wrench with my white beadlocks I ordered and the website only shows the black beadlocks are supposed to get the wrench for free so I contacted RC4WD and they sent the wrench no hassle expedited shipping to Canada.

Hey guys I think I may be confusing people. I’m trying to get the right socket or nut driver for the wheel nuts on the scx24 4mm looks to big to me. Also most wrenches are too thick to fit down into the space around the wheel nut on those 1.0” wheels from rc4wd

4mm is the nut outer diameter/socket size. Luckily I had some Wiha German made micro drivers in my bag. Nothing else fit inside the lugs.

Okay. Here we go.
The 4mm wrench ONLY fits the the Losi Micro axle nuts provided with the rage beadlocks. I know because I ordered one.
These rims are not worth it. I actually have grown to hate them.
Rc4wd is great. I've had nothing but great service from them. And most of their products are excellent.
But they really Leave you out in the cold with this style rim.
These rims took me many fails over a few months to mount tires. I finally developed the technique to finish these easily and thought I was good untill it was time to bolt them on.
I ground down a cross wrench for the wheel axle nut but It doesnt fit Well and the walls of the fitting are now paper thin.
I have many sets of drivers and nothing fits.
I will now take the wheels off AGAIN enlarge the wheel nut hole and clearence grind each lug untill i can fit a decent driver in there.
Another option is to cut a slot in the axle nut and use a bladed screwdriver to tighten em up. I really didnt want to do that.
I have their Rage Beadlocks and I love them.
Great design and beautifully machined.
But these steel wheels are not worth the trouble, time or scavenger hunt to find tools and longer bolts that actually work.
These wound up costing me much more than the purchase price with all the trial and error with tools and hardware.
I CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS STYLE WHEEL!
If you Buy them because they look cool like I did, be prepared for a battle.
Rage Beadlock And their other wheels have a much better design.

I just wanted to add that this is for using those wheels on a cr-24.
I have mil stones on my scx24 that I use different wheel and tire combinations.
Also the wheel nuts rc4wd included fit my Trail Trekker but I prefer the look of the either stock or rage wheels on it.
So if I wanted to use the steelies on my Trail Trekker, the rc4wd 4mm T-wrench would work perfectly because that's what its designed for.
If you have Trail Trekker sized axles, I reccomend these wheels only if you are willing to buy longer bolts for assembly, have patience and the 4mm t-wrench
