Testing image

Thank you, durok! Been having issues recently... seems to just be here on RCC. Since starting my nitro-restoration thread, I need to be able to post pics.

Very much appreciate the support. My wife has grown weary of entering my hobby room at this point... knowing that she must field questions like "Wanna spin my out-drives?" and "Would you use a cap-head with a flat washer here or this flat-head with concave washer?"

She actually asked me if the transmission was an engine and I thought I might end up needing bail money.

I have finally figured out to post pics from my phone exactly where I want them in a thread. There appears to be a 10 pic limit per post.

I think that part or all of my issues are that I access RCC on my older PC. I think that's been problematic.

I miss using taptalk to post pictures. I’ve never used a host site for pics so i have no clue what I’m doing. That’s why I haven’t posted any in a long time
I never used taptalk but I remember when I was telling you that the post-image site was easy/ no problem. Welp... lol. Used to be anyway and likely the recent issue is either on my end or with RCC.

Using the attach files feature now works great for pulling pics off of my phone. One just need to be sure to use the option to insert the Pic using the 'full size' option if wanting them to automatically open.

I haven't tried doing on my computer as of yet but could imagine it works exactly the same

HPD, I couldn’t figure that site out cause it had too many options. I’m a direct directions kind of guy when it comes to tech. I’m so far behind when it comes to that kind of stuff.

Smog, If I could find the attach files option I would definitely use it. I don’t get that option when I do a reply. Maybe cause I’m not a paying member?

I also can’t figure out how to quote on here since the update

You don't see that icon with the paperclip lower left of the reply box?

See it here in my screenshot below

Smog, I do not see the "attach file" with paperclip icon in my reply window either. I am also not a paying member of the site.

AnimalHippie, To quote a post there is a "+Quote" in the lower right of the post you want to quote in your reply. Click on that and then it gives you an option to insert the quote. Then you can delete parts of the quote you do not need or want (if you want) just like you edit your own text.

I too only bother to figure any of this out after being annoyed not being able to do it for long enough. Been using computers since about 1982, just tired of everybody needing to do it a "new and better way". Get off my lawn!

Ah, gotcha. It is a membership feature. I obviously did not realize this.

@AnimalHippie I thought I remembered that feature even without a green star but I guess not. I'm gonna try smogs way and see if that works. The test image I was able to post here was through the free post image site that I've used for years without issues. I typically didn't re-size anything and after picking an image ( one at a time unfortunately... took a little time) I'd hit the "post to forum" link/ url. Copy and paste... done.

But it's not letting me do that anymore and I don't think it's an issue with the image hosting site. I was able to post here in this thread from the same site but via a different link...."direct link" or "link to website" or something. There's a few options. BUT I need to be able to post pics reliably so again, I'll try the "attach file" option here. I hate that I started a pic-specific thread and then after the first post it became dead in the water... really frustrating.

Being less than savvy in the world of current tech, computers, etc is a tough existence lol.

@Gula That's a 2mm hex but on a 100* 8-32 flat-head. The head looks huge but it actually sits just about perfectly flush on the bottom of the pan.

That’s unfortunate. I prefer a photo host because I can upload and organize my photos on a different app/site and then share those with different people and sites and just have the albums for reference. Say I want to remember what gearing I have in a rig or when I installed the cam in my Honda Grom, I just refer to the pics and dates on them.

@hpd after you attach chosen files. You will have the option with each pic to 'insert'. This is where you have the option to use a full size image. The Pic will insert wherever you have set the cursor in the reply box

I didn't know about this. I tend to use the hyperlink text from Imgur or the insert icon 1730209757219.png rather than Attach files because I could not figure out how to get the attachments to insert where I want.
