Well the camaro showed up today. Most of the work is already done for me but there is most body work left. I bought it off Bullitt on Scale 4x4 in worse condition than the pics. Its kinda like a resto project. You never how what is under the top coat, thank god it cant rust:lol: A few different colors of paint, some some painted over decals:shock: Had to pull out the rad and rad support so they can also be repainted. I will probably clean up the interior a bit but leave it mostly as is. Going to try and mod the front end of the chassis to accept the 302. With the stock motor that car does some pretty good burnouts"thumbsup"

gearmonkey they really did make a 302 it came in speacial adition camaros but is super rare and it has like 400 hp stock

Don't forget you could get a 427 also......
The 427-cid engine never appeared on 1969 dealer order sheets, but some were specially ordered by dealers. These were legitimate factory built vehicles. These 427-cid Camaros are known as COPO cars, the letters signifying Central Office Production Order. COPO 9560 Camaros included an aluminum block "ZL1" 427-cid engine. Sixty-nine of these Camaros were built, fifty for Chevrolet dealer-racer Fred Gibb and nineteen for other dealers. Although Chevrolet had toyed with the idea of a special graphics package for ZL1 Camaros (and actually built two for its own use), the ZL1 Camaros released to the public carried no special exterior identification. The option cost was $4,160, more than the base Camaro itself. A second category of COPO 1969 Camaro was COPO 9561. These had iron-block 427-cid engines. Chevrolet dealer-racer Don Yenko received 201(or 199, depending on the source) of these Camaros and sold some of them through his dealership with special Yenko graphics. Most of the Yenko Super Camaros were sold through Yenko's distributorship, SPAN, Inc. Oh and there were a lot of choices...................

Engine options were at an all-time high with the 1969 Camaro, as 14 different power plants were available. A traditional array of potent small- and big-block V8's were optional, but under a special ordering procedure, a 1969 Camaro could be fitted with 2 different killer 427 V8's.

I know but this isnt a COPO. Its a Z/28 and there for will get the DZ 302. The 67 Vette im building will get the 427 though. All Z/28 Camaro were also hardtops. But in 1968, 1 convertable camaro was built with the Z/28 option for a GM excutive.

When you have this sitting in the garage, its insparation for this build. (This is a old pic and the z/28 badges are long gone for obvious reasons)

I really like the look of the body showing all 20 coats of paint. Looks like the real deal after 30+ years of neglect.

I built that model when I was a kid. I gave it to my Dad because he had a 1:1 back in the day. He still has it sitting on a shelf in his office. Maybe I should get it back.

Updated time!!! and its long overdue. I havent done anything on the body yet as I still have not found a good way to completly strip the paint (ides guys?). But I have got the 302 under the hood.

What kind of car do you have under there? After I get my other cars done, I want to build an onroad car.

Thanks
