1/8 Nitro buggy converted crawler???
<o:p> </o:p>
Has anyone taken a 1/8 scale nitro buggy and turned it into a crawler? I was thinking of using the front and rear end like a Maxx crawler, locking everything up, and then build a tube frame and so on. Would it work?

Maybe I was just thinking past the obvious, we all know nitros don't crawl. But I assumed you would lock the axles solid, like maxx, and use an electric motor on some type of center transmission. Not 100% clear on what the original posters intent was.

that's wat i was thinking to..... or maybe he really is going to try a nitro...

I know nitros dont crawl. I was going to use the front and rear for parts like a maxx crawler. I just have a buggy and i dont use it much so was just thinking of other options .

Cool, that's what I figured you meant. It would be extra work than just locking the suspension out, but I've played around with the idea of making Poulson-style axles with 1:8 buggy parts. Just toss in a tranny strong enough to handle it.
