TLT axles
Pan car rear end with a GD 600 as the transmission
Stampede transmission as a transfer case
Futaba hi torque servo
Dynamite Tazer 15T ESC
6 cell GP 3300 battery
HPI 2.2 rims
Lunch Box tires (some pics show TLT tires)
Parma 1/8 scale 2004 Ford F150 body
Tamiya Copper Metallic paint
Steel bar for frame rails
Cheep can of flat black paint for frame
Stainless Steel rod for links
JR R1 pro radio
Wheelbase - 13.5

My goal was to build as much of the truck as possible from what I had already. Also I wanted the truck to look and drive similar to a real truck. In addition I did not want the wheels to stick out to far. All I had to buy was the body, paint, steel bar and the Stainless rod. Well this is what I have come up with:

Test Fit:

Frame painted then assembled:

Axles, Links and shocks added:

Electronics added:

Body set on first time:

First time outdoors (body mounts corrected).:

First thoughts:
It needs softer springs
Turning radius is to wide
Torque snaps drive shafts like twigs
Needs tonneau cover
Tranny to Transfer case works better than expected.
LB tires are super soft and sticky. They grip great in dirt and on the lawn.
It has potential :)

personally, lower it a little bit, but different tires on it. but it looks great man!

I would love to lower it but I put a 95 tooth spur on the pan car rear end. I had to raise the body to clear the spur. I also agree with the tires but they are a lot better than the TLT ones that were on it first. I was thinking something like masher 2ks.

lower the body and get swamp dogs and she's golden. really like the moto mount and t case set up

How do the G-Hawgs and the Swamp Hawgs compare for trail use? I like the look of the G-Hawgs better. Also other than the Imex web site were can I get them? Both are out of stock there.

I think I might drop the spur to an 85 or 90. I do not have enough wheel speed. I do have enough torque to snap both drive shafts like twigs.

I thought of a second GD 600 and using a small spur but then the motor will rub on the body.

I plan to gradually add the accessories once I get all of the necessities worked out.

Update on progress

Here is an update to my progress. I added the tonneau cover (still need to color the wight edge of the vinyl black.) Lowered the body. Used a smaller spur gear (added wheel spin). Mounted Imex G-Hawgs without the foam. Filled portion of drive shafts with epoxy (only left enough of each empty to allow for the needed sliding affect.

Results:
The lack of foams make up for the stiff springs.
Front tires hit the upper links when turning.
Turning radius still to wide.
G-Hawgs have great grip.
Need to run the antenna differently (range is to short).
Drive shafts no-longer break like twigs. Rear one does pop out of the joint when breaks are abused repeatedly or when truck is 'rocked' back and forth.

lookin good man. Is there any way possible to lower that body another 1/2in or so? It would really look scale then. Or try running larger tires like IMEX All-T's or Red Rocks to make up for it. Do you have any ideas on getting more turning radius yet?

I am going to try a smaller spur and then I should be able to lower it even more. As far as the turning I might add rear steering. I am also going to run a stronger steering servo. With the R1 I can mix the channels so that the rear only turns 10 or 15 degrees. Currently the truck still has more than enough torque so losing some will not be and issue.
