I've been watching all the amazing YouTube videos on these crawlers and loved it. 3 years ago I landed a better paying job and finally was able to purchase a Axial scx10 Honcho. Rtr that is. Awesome rig out of the box but couldn't wait to make it my own. And might I add been having a lot of fun with this truck as much at the work bench as on the trail.
Started with the Honcho body then started doing comps and gradually upgrading it . First was the plastic links were switched out for the Axial aluminum set front and rear. Plastic gears in the tranny were toasted 4 months later so I put in Robinson racing harden steel gears. Added more scale items and decals throughout the months. Put aluminum hood scoops over the front body clips for a more real look. Then I purchased these aluminum cnc machined beadlock wheels from Xtra Speed Rc. Just got done with this pictured c10 Chevy body this winter. Converted the body to have a real bed with opening tailgate. Made aluminum fender flares , roof rack, rocksliders, front skid plate , bed rails, headache rack, and wooden opening tool box. Just bought a set of 1.9 rock beast tires and so far really like them.
